This is what I wanna know? And what options are there?
Kendrick and Nas may happen more, but right now Nas is busy with Hit-Boy, and Nas and Al already have stuff in the chamber.
Jay? It'll probably happen, but if not, Jay's last album was 444, and Jay isn't really working right now. And they did that joint on Written Testimony.
Drake? Okay, cool. I guess I wouldn't mind hearing that.
Cole? I wouldn't mind that either.
Goofy take.Roc Marciano been a mid-tier MC his entire career. It is what it is![]()
Man these nikkas poppin in who only listen to mainstream artists need to fukkin step off forreal. The way Al has been moving within the scene has proved to be VERY lucrative to his career. nikka produced a grammy nominated album last year fukk what these nikkas in here talkin bout.Hell nah to all these artists.
These mainstream artists will buy a batch of beats from these incedible producers, use like one beat and then shelve the rest.
This the reason Madlib dont like selling mainstream artists beats. Kanye bought a ton of his shyt during the Pablo album and Ye only used like 1 or 2 tracks
K.Dot did the same shyt to FlyLo. Recorded a whole album to his beats that were suppose to be for Captain Murphy 2 only for that shyt to be shelved.
Besides I feel Prodigy, Gibbs, Conway, Spitta were excellent artists for him to work with![]()
This has the potential to be one of the most boring records of the year. I can hear the paint drying just thinking about it....
1. Queues violin sample, and some obscure voice in french from an old black and white movie
2. Waits patiently for some kind of percussion, that never comes. Violin sample keeps looping and every 22.5 seconds that french voice sample appears. Drums never come.
3 Roc makes his presence with some kind of autistic ad lib. Ughh-ughh
4. Roc starts spitting the following,
We in Arkansas, put the razer to ya back, open you like my chick's bra
Sippin merlot, you'sa a turtle, burner give you reflux, make you gurgle
Roll up on you calmly, flexin like Chong Li, fly back to Florida sippin colada under palm trees
Flow is nyquil, my girl wears a night veil, we not sure you solid, heard you might squeal
Wakes up the next morning with that violin sample in my head.

And I big upped that album by Gibbs. Great album. What I’m saying is he has a lot of wasted beats. He can make albums with whoever he wants. Alchemist just has a lot of throwaway albums with mid level Mc’s. I stand by that statement.Man these nikkas poppin in who only listen to mainstream artists need to fukkin step off forreal. What rappers should he be working with?

See, I don't wanna sideline the convo too much, but if anything I kinda think Roc tried a little bit too hard on his last album. I thought the production sounded a little bit overly experimental in places, and I think he's altered his flow a little bit into more of a Talib style of trying to fit more words into each bar.Roc been phoning it in, I hope he wakes up.
I got you on the exact answer breh
He said he spent the late 90's and all of the 2000's chasing placements on large name albums, and trying to deal with major artists/managers/labels for his own albums. He said he hated the process of making Chemical Warfare and his career had been exhausting, and that from 2010 and on he just wanted to relax and smoke weed while making music with friends. If anyone wants to fly to record at his house they're more than welcome. Nas went there a couple summers ago and they did some joints. He's not opposed to working with household name rappers, but he said it's got to be organic, because he's got enough money for a lifetime and is mostly done with working in the major label systems.
TL;DR: He wants to work with his friends and enjoy life now that he's in his 40's and accomplished everything he dreamed of in the 2000's. He also said now that he's older he wants to stay at home, and that he did everything he could dream to do before 2010 ever rolled around. Hard disagree on projects being with mid rappers BTW. Gibbs, Conway, Roc, Boldy, Prodigy, and Evidence are all super dope. I think Currensy and WTK are dope too.
EDIT: Also producers don't give a fukk about the things we give a fukk about. They care more about who might have an interesting voice or a unique flow on their beats, and less about just elite bars. Most A-1 producers have full projects with rappers most fans consider "mid". Al just said this about Boldy, and this type of shyt is common among all big name producers:
"It’s just as a texture. Not to get too nerdy here, but Boldy's voice, even when he talks, you could put it on a beat. It’s like water to me when he rhymes. It’s always coincidental that he’s rhyming, if that makes sense. Like, “Oh, shyt,” because he’s talking so crazy, but then the words are connecting in crazy ways. His voice is a texture and how he sounds on a record is so interesting that your ears perk up the minute you hear it, and then the flow is so effortless it’s almost unfair. It’s like Prodigy in the same way that it seems so simple, but I dare you to do the same thing. So that type of thing will always get me, and make it easy for me to make beats."
looking forward to this. mainly because I want a change of pace Roc album like Dark Horse were he's not handling the bulk of the production.
also, as far as Alc working with people..I want to hear him work with guys like;
Larry June, Babyface Ray, G Herbo, Valee, Shawny Binladen, Tony Shhnow, Navy Blue, Wiki, Remy Banks, Big Kahuna OG
Raekwon, Jadakiss and Jim Jones from the old heads.
