RIP JOE. He was a role model and father figure to alot of black youth at the time. Eastside HS right now is 99.9 % Latino. Back then it was maybe less than 5 % of the school population, the rest was black. Remember the scene where the Spanish cat got thrown out of the school for drug dealing ? He was like the only Latino in the school. Fast-forward to 2020 down the block from the school the street is renamed "Dominican Way" and the Hispanics dikk ride the fame/rep/clout of the school. Park Ave is nothing but Latinos. Down the street on Rosa Parks it's prostitutes walking the track and white fiends shooting up. I say all this to say Joe was a credit to the school and the area because none of this would of happened while Joe was principal. Dude brought in the national guard to clean up the area so his students can feel safe and learn.
