Yea (wo)man. We aren't breeding musicians anymore, no music in schools, blacks not learning in the church, digital music/software being more popular. So many people who don't LOVE music becoming artists for the money and fame, but very few are truly passionate about music. They don't study it, they don't have the versatility, most popular artists now are simply puppets.

its a combination of unfortunate factors
the music that most acts base their work on is current and generally wack

their reference points are shallow basically biting their peers and contemporaries

they grow up on a straight pop music diet and give the minimum time to their work
they rely on studio tricks to mask the bullshyt

they are a reflection of the world they come from

its entertaining sometimes
but artist were once capable of making things almost narcotic in quality

songs that change your state of consciousness like a high of their own they make you stop and feel

not just something you can put on in the background and ignore

but what you get is what you give
and they don't get much light to inspire them in current culture so it is what it is
