That’s how I feel.
:yeshrug:I would really love to live in Bronzeville. Even East Garfield Park would be nice and those neighborhoods, mainly Bronzeville, are majority black. I don't want to invest in a neighborhood that is flanked by shytty neighborhoods. I'm upfront when I say I am waiting for money to come and get them folks up outta there. If the fukking city can't dump funds to turn them around wholesale and help residents stay (unrealistic but idealistic) then at least do what it do so all that blighted ass land can be turned into something useful. It depressed me driving down Halsted for a couple of years to Englewood and seeing straight up empty buildings from the 70's and earlier boarded up with zero plans of doing anything.

This. I'm already plotting where to move and it absolutely takes into account getting certain mawfukkas up outta here. I'm all for equity and inclusion, but a gang of them cats out on the corner can't be psychologized. Rather than fukking with them nonstop (via the law), whole families and blocks get priced the fukk out till they become Indiana residents.

Chicago to me is like Philly but bigger and better. I like it more than NYC because it doesn’t seem as claustrophobic. And it’s relatively affordable. They’re definitely going to get those muthafukkas out of there. That downtown y’all have, that lakefront, all the other amenities the city has to offer, yea…it may take another decade or so but when people get tired of moving to NYC, DC and California they gonna realize they can get all those things there.

Also, for all the bytching about weather, Chicago Winters have seemed to be mild as hell the past few years. This could 100% be bias but I can't even count on snow being on the ground by Christmas like I could as a kid. All this and a great lake makes this prime real estate. Also, condos like this in East Garfield park for less than 200k
