Back in Jamaica he is praised even name a highway after him ... Back in the 90s he came there when he and they threw a week long party for him ... He said to this day he has never been to a place where he was worshiped and appreciated like that.. He represents so much not only for blacks.. But for political systems around the world as a whole...it pisses me off reading comments over the years by whites who don't understand or know what's going on and bashing him calling him a nobody etc... They don't want any man of color to get credit or praise because its a threat ... A black man of stature or power is their worst nightmare
Co sign

Even in Somalia dude was loved and praised

He is up there with Malcolm as Mlk

one died of an existing ailment at 95 after being on the brink of death for nearly a year. zzzzz

one died at 40 after his car exploded in what was probably the most poetic/ironic way.

one is one of the greatest black men to ever walk the world

"Look at this Truth and Reconciliation charade. He should never have agreed to it." Again her anger was focused on Mandela. "What good does the truth do? How does it help anyone to know where and how their loved ones were killed or buried? That Bishop Tutu who turned it all into a religious circus came here," she said pointing to an empty chair in the distance.

"He had the cheek to tell me to appear. I told him a few home truths. I told him that he and his other like-minded cretins were only sitting here because of our struggle and ME. Because of the things I and people like me had done to get freedom."

"I am not alone. The people of Soweto are still with me. Look what they make him do. The great Mandela. He has no control or say any more. They put that huge statue of him right in the middle of the most affluent "white" area of Johannesburg. Not here where we spilled our blood and where it all started. Mandela is now a corporate foundation. He is wheeled out globally to collect the money and he is content doing that. The ANC have effectively sidelined him but they keep him as a figurehead for the sake of appearance."

- Winnie Mandela

GET THAT nikka WINNIE, GET HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree. Same reason why Princess Diana got way more attention than Mother Teresa.

i wanna believe Elle Driver is a confirmed one but my gut tells me they are not...

look at it this way...we will go the rest of 2013 without a confirmed Black woman making a thread in HL. Bank on that.

and if they did it would only be a vindictive thing to "prove me wrong"

how often do you see Assatta shakur black women? :patrice:

everything is about "entertainment" with most of them.

RIP to Mandela. He still had some good qualities.

But people don't want to hear the truth about this breh. He was given power so that he can be used to control the black masses that wanted revenge and for cacs be kicked out of their native land. He may not have understood the chess move that cacs were playing. This is what happens when blacks lose site of your dignity for sake of white acceptance. These cacs committed all kinds of atrocies and they did not go to jail. I am still waiting for a white man to take the high road like we are expected too.
He understood. He was broken in prison and was willing to say *fukk all that bullshyt just gimme some money and ill smile for ya boss.* He had a spark when he started and in the 2nd half of his life became a bytch ass nikka. R.I.P i guess. Im sure being dead is being then living life as a house nikka.

one is one of the greatest black men to ever walk the world

the other is :Mjpls:

1. agreed
2. disagree

me personally, i know nelson's done way more for me than paul walker...but am i interested at all in coverage/discussion of his death? no, because I'd say the same shyt about him yesterday as I would today.

paul walker's death, on the other hand, is much more interesting. this was a guy who i all but forgot existed outside of the fast and furious franchise. his death was horrific, unexpected, and it made me contemplate my own mortality as a young person. plus i didnt know whether he was a good guy or not, but his story was interesting. definitely some bright spots around his activism and charity work, but then again, dude dated a 16 year old when he was 33.

point is, to many, paul walker was "unpacked" by his death. nelson was not. that's why i'd expect a PW thread to beat an NM thread in numbers.
