R.I.P. Kay Slay.

— What props would I get going out of town saying your name?
— Cause that's you, cause that's your style
— Yeah, right
— That's your style
— You know my style
— No, I don't know your style

My Pops Forever RIP
RIP :mjcry:Grew up listening to the Drama King on HOT 97 every Thursday's at midnight for the new exclusives. Sad.
There's still exclusives I have that I can't get on CDQ because they don't exist. I can only hear em through how Kay Slay put em out.

For all the collabos we hear from guys like DJ Khaled, even now, only Kay Slay could figure out how to get the most random MC's together on a track and have it work.

Look at this for example.

I gotta listen to some of these tapes he dropped in the last few years cuz you could tell all these artists no matter big they were did joints for Kay Slay out of love

I definitely prefer Kay Slay over Khaled. His songs don’t sound forced.

I remember seeing him show flyers that were older than me...parties thrown at public schools and things of that nature..:wow:

He always showed love to the rappers in the struggle who didn't have the resources to compete:mjcry:

Might be one of the last djs of the culture who kept it pure hip hop with no politics involved

The people you held down and said fukk the politics are going to remember your good deeds hence the outpouring of love today.

This one is hard for me, I really became a true supporter off him through his Sirius show. Dude interviewed and gave any and everyone a chance with talent. One off the last dj that practiced the true principles of the Art Of Djing. The respect he had for artistry, and actual talent, and also how he looked for women artist who were simply dope, regardless off how they looked. Needs to be highlighted. What he was trying to do with the Breaking The Science series. Dude will always be an influence on me.

He represented everything that was right about Music and how the game should be played.

RIP Kay Slay and I hope, truly hope his legacy can actually be continued by at least 1 person
