Is there an alternate app that is similar to google play? Youtube music doesnt allow you to play music with the screen off in the free version so thats a no go for me

this is unacceptable. dahell does mans need to have the app screen on to play music. the hunt for an alternative begins now.

i might have to upgrade my OG 60 gig ipod vid. plex seems like the only true alternative and that depends on you internet connection at home, and cost you $120

I use tidal for new stuff but I have a bunch of old mixtapes/albums and loosies I uploaded years ago to google play music.

has there been anything said on what happens if you dont transfer it over? when they kill the play music app, will your stuff disappear or will you just be forced to transer stuff over? am always adding music and would just prefer to wait until the last minute.
