Classic :wow:

Legend is that Edwards was angered by the song's first verse: "It was the third of September/That day I'll always remember/'cause that was the day/that my daddy died", as his father was said to have died on that date.

Thanks...i saw the Temps. mini series, he must have been the guy that was complaining that that they wrote his father's actual date of death in the "Papa was a Rollingstone" song

temps-aint-nothng-without-david-ruffin

A lot of my friends were djs so I know him from "don't look any further" aka the beat to "paid in full"

Rest in Peace
Yeah, he was the lead on that song, Cloud 9, Runaway Child, and others, plus he sang on the popular version of Silent Night by them.

Man I remember I was working at enterprise :scust: rent a car about 12 years ago at the airport(first gig outta college and it was awful) and I asked dude (he hadn't come out yet and was returning the car) and I didn't see his face and I asked

"How was the car?" :hubie:

" Ain't got shyt on my Mercedes"

I was like:gucci:

The handheld spit out the name and receipt and Dennis Edwards comes out...

I look up like :gladbron:

nikka had a full mink coat on, diamond rings and his woman had a full fur. Took the shuttle back to the airport. Even luggage was Gucci game.

RIP.
