Rihanna's fan base is basically every woman under the age of 30. She's a global artist. That is the only reason this is risky. As far as international star for women in music goes, Rihanna trails only Beyonce and Adele (she's bigger than Perry and Swift outside of North America).
What's crazy is that you all keep talking about artists being pop and selling out and then Rihanna follows Beyonce's example and just makes the album she wants (Beyonce last album only had one top 10 single) and now you guys are criticizing her for it. @Warren nikkas aint checking for Rihanna like that, but it was streaming for free on Tidal so
Rihanna didn't follow beyonce. Anti sounds nothing like beyonce. Beyonce's last album did sound like everything rihanna and everyone else had already made at the time.
Also, Rihanna has fans over 30, she is almost 30 herself. She will have even more older fans after this album.
Beyonce acually lost a lot of her older fans on her last album when she tried to keep up with Rih and the younger girls in music. Beyonce's 4 album and dangerously in love is the real her. Beyonce was her trying to be young, hip and fit in.
