Only saw a couple episodes but it seemed tasteless and transparent, seems shock humor is its primary draw. Perhaps the show is deep and profound drawing on both the philosophical and whatever to convey its derivative brand of comedy but I'll never know, cuz I'll never watch
The animation sucks as well, television is a visual medium, least you can do is make a show somewhat pleasing to the eye

Most of those jokes are supposed to be aimed at reprehensible people that you're not supposed to like or meant to find disgusting.

Not only that, it commonly uses those horrible jokes to make statements about things that resonate in current society like most good sci-fi does.

That King Jellybean rape joke is followed by a brilliant scene where Rick and Morty are forced to endure a brutally unfair legal system that railroads them into punishment with and points out how high ranking officials get away with scandals but it does them all in a minute or two.

Not only that but never portrays these things as good so I don't know how it's poison. Like...Rick is supposed to be a piece of shyt who's depression and hatred of himself destroys everyone around him. He's a poisonous individual.

Unity says it best, Rick consumes life better than she does and she's a hive mind.

Eh, cartoons that delve into existential nihilism, the unfathomability of the universe, multiverse theory and free will aren't everyone's thing. I guess some posters got caught up in the violence and have no ability to understand themes, subtext and philosophical dilemmas. They did an episode based on Schrodingers's Cat so I wouldn't expect everyone to get it. Maybe you should stick to watching Power or Underdog.
