At most, what you see in Rick and Morty is violence, and Rick's faux indifference to everyone around him, which is all just a facade to hide that fact that he actually does care about the people around him so much that it hurts him.

The main character, Rick, has a very "I don't care about anyone or anything" attitude and has no problem showing it.

Eh, there's multiple pedophilia jokes in R&M. Morty's teacher has an unhealthy sexual attraction to summer and let's Morty drunkenly grope him, the Scammer Aliens crack jokes about one of the crew being a pedophile, King Jellybean from the fairy tale trying to rape Morty and then getting caught with those photos, etc.
I forgot about that...but even in that scene, it wasn't funny and I wouldn't defend it as funny like these south park fans passionately defended a video game that has you controlling the movements of a little boy grinding on a grown man.

Really the conversation is getting side tracked. What @Chris Cool is talking about was me specifically calling out the south park video game for having a scene where you control the boy on the mans lap in a strip club.
The south park fans defended that particular scene passionately as "par for the course" when it comes to south park.
For me, those scenes aren't funny.
The rick and morty jellybean scene was disturbing to me, not funny, but it was interesting on the other had to see how Rick reacted to it.
The little under handed jokes the teacher makes are not funny to me either, but they're no where near as graphic as the stuff seen in the south park game.

Old? This is one of the only shows to actually explore nihilsm, concepts of insignificance in humanity, multiverse, existentialism, human psychology, and even dynamics of relationships and the co-dependance they can create all through comedy.
Theres alot to talk about with rick and morty, and unless you're kind of a regular dude who believes in god, and gives every other aspect of life little thought...then you should "get" or atleast understand what this show is doing. And what makes it great.

The scene Wasn't supposed to be funny. Everything in South Park and Rick and Morty isn't a joke

I'm fine with content showing opposing views from mine.
I don't immediately shut something down because of different perspectives.
They have a Cthulhu reference in the damn opening.The main plot device of the show is a gun that shoots portals that connects and tethers multiple realities/dimensions together with the protagonists being one dude, burdened with unfathomable knowledge, as a mentally scarred and repugnant individual while the other is an extremely baize but good-hearted child slowly being twisted by delving into unknown realities.
One of the biggest jokes in the show is Jerry's ignorance and powerlessness in the face of these otherworldly presences.
Look at how the portal gun kills. Tentacles, floods, poisons, etc...
Rick and morty is great, wife showed us it and I've been watching it on my phone on security shifts, it's hilarious to me.
Never liked South Park though, to me it just seems like tries too hard to be offensive for no reason.
Simpsons season 3-9 is still the best animated programme ever shown on telly.

I remember one day last year I had it on, and all this random demonic stuff was on at like 11:30. I'm like wtf
This is what kids are sneaking and staying up late and watching? No wonder two of the most popular acts right now are uzi and XxXtention.
ATHF and sealab use to be kind of clever with it.
