I think that's the thing. Most people had SM:AS or 90's comics Peter in their heads but I always thought Tobey was the more faithful adaption.Spidey 2 is still a Top 5 comic book movie for me. And I think Tobey is the best Spidey/Peter Parker...at least the era of Peter that he was trying to convey.

Feel like you said the same thing maybe I said it wrong. I felt Tobey nailed Lee and Romita characterizations of the character. A Peter whose rent money would get destroyed fighting a villain lol. He was by no means someone you'd call cool until much later.Really? to that guy? Explain. Cause I don't see it at all.
that iteration of Peter is more Peter than Tobey. The pathos mixed with the sense of humor and the actual backbone. Tobey moped a lot as Peter. like a lot a lot. That Peter on that show rarely moped, was quick with a quip, wasn't hung up on solely on MJ and actively wanted to be spider-man rather than simply falling into it. He went after criminals rather than just letting them show up on his doorstep and then doing something about it.
Spectacular Spider-Man >>>>>I actually revisited TASM movies back in September and there is a lot to like about them if you skirt around the zany "Uncovering the past" storyline. Still not my favorite of the bunch, nor is Garfield my favorite Spidey, but I think as time goes on, more fans of those films will come out and they'll get some sort of resurgence.
I feel that. But that’s one aspect of the character. Lee and Romita made Peter deeper than stereotypical nerd which is how Tobey played him and my chief issue. Also the fact his character was the same in movie 1 as it was at the end of movie 3. He didn’t alter it didn’t let him grow beyond being a 17 year old and that’s wack to me.Feel like you said the same thing maybe I said it wrong. Can't argue with that...I feel that. But that’s one aspect of the character. Lee and Romita made Peter deeper than stereotypical nerd which is how Tobey played him and my chief issue. And I don’t kick dirt on the flicks for it. 2 is still my shyt. I just think those first two movies work and it’s hard to fukk them up. I think Tobey was a great stereotypical version of Peter that people have in their headsCan't argue with that...
I remember that crushing defeat feeling when I saw it go cancelled. Why can't we have good things?Spectacular Spider-Man >>>>>
