3 groups that got ridiculous legacy bumps.

Man Ludacris was objectively trash

He was just good at making singles

ehh, I wont go that far.

Ludacris' catalog is solid. he had a few really good albums.

Real motherfn Gz being this heralded, epic no vaseline level diss

it was always epic. I remember it used to run on the box all day.

and its better than "no Vaseline".:yeshrug:

That's been the narrative since 1998

A better example would be how KMD clearly ripped L but due purely to newer flow, career longevity, and commercial appeal people started thinking LL won

I was never sure if the entire "how ya like me now" was a diss track, but aside from that, LL's diss tracks were way better than kool moe dee's other joints.

that's why LL won. not because of commercial appeal & career longevity, seeing how at the time, KMD was the OG that lasted over a decade and was pretty commercially successful himself.

now if they battled in a cypher or on stage or something, then KMD would've smoked him.
same way I feel about the cannibus beef, to a lesser degree.

cool j is the goat at on-wax battling.

There is no revision in getting a "legacy bump". Revision is someone saying "OutKast ran rap in 1994" or "UGK was widely considered GOAT when Ridin Dirty dropped" or "Three Six Mafia were household names once they dropped Mystic Stylez".

The bigger revisionist thing is that ANY one person 'ran rap' during that time. There were NUMEROUS people selling multi platinum and running big tours. He was one of the top guys, but there was more than just one.
Lol there are no ties in hip-hop. Yall just dont wanna admit Jay didnt run shyt.

I AM was a dope ass album :yeshrug:

Hate Me Now
Ghetto Prisoners
We Will Survive
Small World
Undying Love
Nas is Like
NY State of Mind 2
Favor for a Favor
Even the Intro is pretty dope

Nas is the only rapper that gets criticized if every song on the album isn’t a classic :mjtf:

I am really probably the biggest Nas fan in the world, but I thought that album was super light. Ghetto Prisoners has an awful beat. We Will Survive is average. Small World is cool but it's nothing crazy. Not to mention the 2 or 3 other trash songs on here. Mainly it was the weak production that I wasn't rockin with. That shyt with DMX should have been so much better but the beat was light.
