Naw I actually agree with you to me they have the best secondary in the league. I'm not even criticizing Alex's performance tonight. But the niners invested a lot in Kaep by drafting him in 2nd round, and I'm just wondering at what point do they plan on starting him if ever.

maybe in the second half

Thing is, there isn't alot invested in him, this isn't 2008.

Kaep came in with the rookie wage scale so he isn;t being paid much at all, so there isn't alot tied to Kaepernick.

Like I said before, what has he shown us besides that he can run the read option?

Right now 5-2 isn't bad, i`ll hold off on Kaep, unless Alex completely shyts the bed. Kaep is the great unknown, but in reality, he hasn't shown us much while Smith is the bland known, he has shown us what he is, but no one is excited over it.

I`m not willing to risk this season on the unknown read-option QB yet.

watched most of second half in the bar with the homies...good W, but boy that alex pick was ugly as fukk. I literally made the :mindblown: smiley when I saw a receiver wide open on that play running with his hand up for like 3 seconds

with that said, hawks have bet secondary in the league...but you dont throw unwarranted picks in the endzone for no reson
honestly alex is disappointing more and more this season. his whole steez was not making mistakes.

well now hes making them and theyre very costly. if he continues throwing bad picks its time to see kaep.

oline was DOMINATING today. the holes they opened up for frank were :wow:
I dont even get why we run wildcat or those stupid options to alex. just run the fukking ball with our backs, we got talented backs and prolly the best runblocking oline in the league at this point

at the end Ill take the W and kim I guess. but this game raised more questions than it answered tbh, sadly.

also teams have shut down the option play the past 2 games, if he cant do that well he might force things

kaep is raw but if alex is fukking things up and offense is stifling....whats the worst thing that can happen ? if alex stops throwing picks and is reliable and safe again...ok youve got a point. but those picks make me question the whole safe qb thing...

also, lets stop pretending and lying to ourselves like everything was great and the giants game was the first one in which alex wasnt great.

Ill take the late-season alex last year over the pre-giants alex this year.
he stopped going thru progressions, and really became a one-read qb I thought he moved away from last year. deep ball accuracy seem to have deteriorated even worse (unless its VD :ld:)

I wish I could say I see the progress on his part, but its just NOT THERE. I like 'game managing' conservative qbs. most of them know what they're doing. I dont like what alex is doing this year.

Looks like folks are starting to come around to what I've been saying about Alex. Alex has 9TD's and 5 picks this year and this is based on him playing it safe and dinking and dunking with the occasional shot downfield. He's not going through his progressions, he's feeling pressure that isn't there, he's running into the pass rush, he lacks confidence. Kaep can do what he's doing. There's no question in my mind. There may be more turnovers, but I think there would be more TD's. Our team stays carrying this bum.

I think we all can agree Alex has not really stepped it up this year, he's not playong bad but yesterday was a game where I wanted to see a lot more out of him.

It just comes down to the fact were still winning and I have zero faith in Kaep right now, Arizona next week on MNF is big, he needs to perform in that game so we can go into the bye 6-2 and 2-0 in division

Gotta find a way to get VD more involved in the Offense NY and Sea did a good job of defending him but Roman needs to find other ways of getting him the ball

He's not playing bad? Really? By my count he's had four games where he's looked awful to subpar( Vikings, Jets, Giants, Seahawks).

He's regressed this year and has only looked good against a weak secondary in the Bills. Our supposed play it safe, smart game manager is now even turning the ball over. That was supposed to the single strength in going along with his conservative, single progression bullsh1t and he can't even do that. He's looked highly uncomfortable in the pocket much like he has in years past. The lack of weapons excuse is out of the window. We had nearly 200 rushing yards last night and only came out with 13 points. We have 1 touchdown in two full games. I don't see how anyone can be happy with this. We are looking like a one and done team if we continue to rely on this, so why not see what we have in Kaep?

You act like dude is turning it over on some Cutler shyt, he had one game where he totally melted down, outside of that 2 picks in 6 games.

He isn't playing bad, but he isn't really playing good either.

Why not se what we have in Kaep, because we're winning games. If you told me after 7 games we`d be 5-2, i`d take that considering our schedule.

You act like we should experiment on Kaep, like it's a throwaway year and this team possibly couldn't get their act together with Smith at QB.

You gotta relax, backup QB is always the most popular guy in town, if we win next week we're 6-2 and in 1st place, 2-0 in the division going into the bye.

And NO i`m not happy with Smith to this point, but he earned the right to be QB barring a complete failure

If Alex stinks it up again vs the Cards man.....it might be time to :birdman: him for a game.

alex has 5 ints in 3 games against teams with winning record...thats his total for last season I believe. and all those picks cost us big points. that endzone pick was just :mindblown: to me. he had one like that against arizona last year but aside from that one his picks last year werent bad. this year hes trying to do too much again.

now we all know harbs wont simply change the qb. so yea its a bit unrealistic at this point. the only way kaep takes over is if alex completely shyts the bed or is injured.

but considering how ridiculously well our oline is playing (based boone ) alex is at this point the weakest link on our offense. its food for thought for next year, really.

I think if alex doesnt step up baalke just cuts him after this season...

Cards are a good defense, especially at home, so it's not like that would be fair.

But I really want to see him have a good performance against a good defense, because he has yet to do it this year, we need more from him next week.

And at that point I would not mind, if her keeps turning it over and missing big plays, then at some point you have to cut dead weight.

I just don't think we're anywhere near that point yet
