Yeah but whose to say jon wont with the additional weight gain. This isnt just a 10 pound jump this is a legit 40-45 with cain werdum an jds. Reem and travis get up to 260 i believe dont quote me on that tho.

its hypothetical that he would ever move up but he would be a small heavyweight and i just feel that most of these heavyweights are too heavy which affects their gas tanks

i mean jones game plan at heavyweight would simply be to take it beyond 3 rounds every fight because there all gassers

Cain overeem and even browne will give him legit problems. Breh weight plays a huge issue. Jon maxing out at 240 isnt the same as these brehs naturally weighing in around that weight.

he could bulk the fukk up like Overeem did back in the day

that's not that different to how Jones looks now, he did used to fight at Pride MW which was 205 i think. having said that he probably bulked up using steroids or some kind of PED

Probably?

He got caught

yeah, i just meant it would take a lot longer for Jones to bulk up to that kind of size. after seeing his brother on embedded i think it could be done but he wouldn't have to go right up to 250/260. he probably walks around at 220 odd right now anyway? so he has to get up to 240 odd to be competitive IMO you have cats like DC who have fought at HW saying Jones is one of the strongest blokes he ever fought in the cage so with Jones on this power lifting wave he will keep improving his strength as well.

Cormier was 235 and dominated the biggest heavyweights in the game Silva and Josh Barnett

he already spars with overeem on the regular and he light heavyweights are just better fighters than the heavyweights, I think he will be more dominate do to lack of competition, and the weight will actually help him

With Jones all he has to worry about is the reach advantage I believe. He's more athletic than a lot of these guys and think if anything he would be wrestling a little bit more so he can get submissions if he went up to HW. But a bigger DC would provide an interesting match up too

The main event was strange to me...I honestly feel like Jon could've just taken Ovince down in the 1st round and finished him...like I said, Jon said earlier in the week that he felt he was a better southpaw than OSP and he was gonna fight a good portion of the fight from that stance...and he didn't go for a legit takedown attempt until the 3rd or 4th round...I applaud Ovince for fighting through a broken arm for a half an hour while competing against a future hall of famer but still...Jon is doing the same sh!t a lot of these wrestlers are doing nowadays...falling in love with striking and neglecting their base...only difference is...these other fighters that do that usually have good power/standing KOs and have a "reason" to do that...

still not a believer in "rust" in combat sports but Jon seemed to want rounds...and he got them...he also was limping....200 may not be a good idea for either guy.

Also...Jones is 4-0 against brehs his size(O'Brien, Bonnar, Gus, OSP)...but all but 1 was a decision win...the 1 finish was against the worst of the 4 fighters...and Gus decision is debateable....he could be successful @ HW but I doubt he'd be dominant.

DJ made easy work out of a very good, but green, Cejudo....got taken down....took no GnP...popped up and dominated the much bigger gold medal-winning wrestler in the clinch....definitely proved me wrong....I think he's no.1 P4P now....but where does he go from here? Formiga??? Benavidez III??? 130 catchweight??? back up to bantam??? I know Dodson will be mad as fukk if he goes back up there :russ:.

I was happy for Edson but I feel bad for Pettis....after the Bendo 2 and Melendez wins, dude looked unstoppable but now he's lost 3 times in a row so...if he's got 10 lbs. to lose...feather could be his rebirth....Conor, Aldo, Frankie, etc....all good fights for him...I really don't wanna see him at 155 anymore...it's like he can't deal with the physicality at LW anymore.

All in all...decent show...I'll be spending 60 again next month for them Brazilians :blessed:

Fools on Sherdog talkin' 'bout he struggled with OSP:what:

Jon is at the point where people mostly cacs will find anything to complain about his performance because he can't lose. He dominated OSP just as easy as he did Glover, it doesn't matter what he does, jon should already know he got his nikka wake up call, but that's the problem with nikkaz like jon who grew up around white folks thinking this ain't the case

I forgot about Gusmao(his 1st fight in the UFC) and Vera(I think that was his first main event and she showed us all that he had a chin when he ate that illegal upkick :banderas:

Jones 6-0 against guys his size....but the sherdoggers still won't give him credit....still not crazy about him going to HW eventually.

After this weekend, who do yall want Barboza to fight next? A couple more big wins and he'll probably get a title shot.:leon:
