This wave has been hitting retail, hotel, restaurants, fastfood, and i'm loving it (pun intended)
As long as people refuse to take these low paying dead end jobs, the market will be forced to correct.

If I had a teenage son/daughter, they will not work in retail or fast food. For what? fukk all that
So who will work in retail or restaurants moving forward?

Bootstrap Propaganda. If a business can't pay a livable wage it shouldn't exist. Period.

Bu bu bu bu what about small businesses? :sadbron:

Stupid ass saltines always thumping their chests about the free market Darwanism but then giving sob stories about small businesses dying if they pay workers a cent over slave wages. Well Gunther, if your business plan involves underpaying your employees you don't have a viable business.

When the mighty hand of the free market calls for higher wages it's always :whoa::whoa:whoa: from these moronic shills.

Never forget that Corporations have claimed for decades that they cant afford to pay more or they would go broke, all while making record profits.

and now that they are facing a labor shortage, you immediately see that they are forced to pay more to attract workers, and yet nobody is going out of business.
Almost as if the entire system is based on a lie and exploiting people who are too worried about keeping food on the table to step back and take a look around them.

:ohhh:

The "workers" used to be scared of massa beating em or splitting up their family. Same game, different rules. Capitalism is nothing but evolved slavery. Always has been.

yup. UNCHECKED capitalism is where things fall apart

So you mean Capitalism then? :skip: "Good Capitalism" had a 10-15 year run after WWII, a marked decline of some 30 years that began CONVENIENTLY after we could participate in the system without blatant hostility and then two decades of increasingly Scorched Earth Capitalism that is ongoing.

And the less said about pre-war Capitalism the better.

‘My life isn’t worth a dead-end job’

Agreed, fukk them. Bust your ass while the people at the top live in luxury.

And some Coli fools support wealth inequality. :heh:

The people support the ceos been telling people to get a skill or create their own.
people talk down on bootstraps but this what people did during the pandemic because they had nothing else to do.

there's good and bad to everything. In the case of capitalism, greed is hard to suppress, and that's where it goes bad.

How can any system that relies on the exploitation and suffering of humans be good on any level?

not all is exploitation. there is a good day's work for a good day's pay. nothing is wrong with that.

greed leads to exploitation.

Before Reagan, corporations did HEAVY profit sharing with the employees. shyt came off the rails once he got in office and put in policies that allowed these corporations to run wild with cutting off profit sharing programs to have the monies go straight to the rich investors instead. Began the sharp rise between the rich and poor

So who will work in retail or restaurants moving forward?

Anyone as long as they getting paid enough for it :yeshrug:

Like that one ridiculous thread arguing if track and field is a sport...no one with sense would debate that. Running is a basic building block of being an athlete, almost all other sports follow it.

But here we are, debating if nikkas cooking your food, caring for your children, delivering your goods, or stocking and serving shyt for you to consume is somehow beneath them when it's still foundational work.

That truck driving UPS worker makes 3 times as much as the guy cooking your food, but who'd argue that both aren't a service that's needed and why is one astronomically more important than the other?
Oh but one of them is part time, or...by god he's 16:wtf:! He almost old enough to die for the country but not enough to make a livable wage outside of that small detail :mjpls:

Correct means what?

I swear people are so short sighted. This will affect everyone else before it affects the CEOs

Anybody whos done a retail job already knows the deal. shyt is no joke out here. People always talk about america this, america that and whatever when in reality, here is really no different than a third world country if you dont have it. You pretty much have to bust your ass and work, work, work. If you ask me, the structure and routine we have with the school system then college and workplace system we have in place to go along with this shyt DOESNT WORK.

The pandemic forced people to be honest with themselves. A lot of people are PROGRAMMED even to the way that they think. They are being told what to care about, what intelligence is, what the truth is, and etc. Following what someone else is telling them until the rug is pulled from underneath and they have to think for themselves. Most people dont even know the options they have because they dont open their minds to know which is what happens here. Even the parents and elders who should have wisened up teaching the kids and younger folks to do the same mistakes they made.
