So the Expanded Child Tax Credit & Earned Income Tax Credit signed into Law from the American Rescue Act in March 2021 was nothing of substance? It was easily the most direct and effective policy on poverty in recent history. The impacts were immediate. And it's a shame that Senator Joe Manchin killed it when it was time to renew at the end of the year. A renewal would have had even bigger effects. Instead some people ended up sliding back into poverty.
It's fine to have criticisms, but at least be accurate about them.
