people already said this here, but NORE got DMX on drink champs earlier last month and NORE got DMX drinking and smoking again...which is bad given how easily X gives into temptation and can relapse into harder drugs under the assumption that he's fine...every Drink Champ's set is littered with vices to choose from, X cannot refuse given that everything was in front of him -- even when the camera cuts away from them using it

NORE should have known better given X's history of substance abuse but he still wanted to have a good time with X for old times' sake, the interview, "entertainment value", smh

but then again, DMX should have gone to some psychotherapist along with rehab a long time ago to cure himself of those past demons, etc to not involve himself with hard drugs ever again

NORE can still have a show without drinking and smoking while talking heavy hip hop stuff, just look at Cam's last sober interview (in fact, NORE's show is even blacklisted on youtube from showing up on your recommendations because it involves drinking and smoking -- NORE's show would get way more views had they removed all that), but NORE's show is built around the concept that people would let loose and say things they wouldn't have said had they not been under the influence (like a hip hop version of Hot Ones, but the guests come prepared because they seen past footage of what other guests have done to not do that)....overall, that show is terrible for guests who have no self control

people need to seek therapy (with the right professional, because some are garbage, or empty out the past with trusting friends) and not think it's a wuss thing to do...X endured everything he's been through until the end.

DMX was shown flowers, was given love, but still indulged himself with hard drugs..people are paying tribute with feelgood stories and makeshift eulogies just to jump on some bandwagon, but they never address the root cause or the underlying truth of what caused X's behavior to be fully functional yet still can't shake his past or addictions. fukk, man. RIP X

Nah nikkaz need to stop blaming nore...blame X circle

fukk that

pretty sure X was on some shyt before coming to drink champs

I'm bout ready to go off on some white folks at work. I jump on a conference call and as I get on there it's about 7 or 8 40-60 year old white people on there. One was in the middle of saying that DMX had passed away and how sad it was. Another jumps in saying he didn't know he had 11 kids. Then this white bytch chimes in with "probably has a whole bunch of baby mommas too", "you know how that type is". Somebody throws out that he was a great rapper and great at what he did and she throws back out, apparently he was great at making kids and probably doesn't even know most of them.

That white bytch would’ve gotten the bizness for real.

Should have interjected and asked “What’s that type you’re referring to? Just wanted to clarify for those listening”

She needs to be summoned by HR, that type comment definitely had racial undertones.

I’ve always loved this performance wit Cam & X, his charisma and energy always pulled you in, not just in music performing but his entire personality

man this hurts :mjcry:

Like many of yall, i was about 9-10 when X hit the scene and Ill never forget my earliest memory of him in the "get at me dog" video.

before I even knew how to conceptualize that X was a product of the 70s/80s crack era of NYC, i knew that "this nikka is straight from the gutter :picard:"

but that was X's appeal. He brought all the aggressiveness, the machismo, the charisma, the wit, the darkness, the self hate, etc of the streets/prison lifestyle.

And seeing him become THE biggest rap star on the planet was something else in the midst of the Iconic Shiny Suit/Bling Bling/SuperProducer/High Budget HIp Hop era
( *sidenote modern kids will never understand that this was the 80s-90s Action Hero era of Hip Hop. Those guys who came to prominence during this time were larger than life:wow:)

Hows it Going Down also remains one of my favorite and most prominent song/video combos of all time too :mjcry:

Ill never admit to being a huge X fan but goddamn he was a very important icon from my childhood and Ive always been hip to how important he was to Hip Hop especially the NYC scene.

One part from Get At Me Dog (which is my fav song by him as well) IMO encapsulates how special he was as a MC, using his energetic flow, his master control of tone to put emotional emphasis on certain parts of verse (he sounds absolutely disgusted when talking about the fakeness of nikkas :mjlol:)

"Ah! You know I don't know how to act
Get too close to nikkas, it's like, "Protected by Viper, stand back" :whoa:
What's this? I thought you nikkas was killers, demented:hhh:
The fukk you want me to do with this coward?
Finish him, it's ended :demonic:"

Rest in Peace Earl. I hope you found the peace you so desperately sought.
I totally relate to everything you said.
