I don't find it funny breh I find it infuriating, I got the day off and ended up jumping on the liquor as soon as I hear the news. Am a former addict myself but ain't one of those that just swicthed to sober life, Only gave up the drugs, giving up the liquor will come later but this should be a wake up call for me cause in my heart I truly believe X was clean from the drugs now but was still drinking.
Do you find bud to be a trigger to making you want to use? I know a lot of ppl do and a lot of ppl don’t, just depends how the individual is wired I guess, I just know alcohol man it’s truly a fukking poison, for the physical and the mental and if you 30 and up it’s a whole different ball game to how it’s affecting your body and health. And I mean no judgement, I got my own vices and struggles, for me bud keeps me centered and takes the edge off from me wanting or feeling like doing anything harder or other self destructive bahaviour but for other people it’s that taste that leads them back to a darker place.

I rarely cry when a celebrity dies but when I saw all the rest in peace articles it hit me hard,as hip hop fans he's always been a big part of our lives

Even though we had some time to process what was going on it still doesn't feel real

Rest in peace X

people already said this here, but NORE got DMX on drink champs earlier last month and NORE got DMX drinking and smoking again...which is bad given how easily X gives into temptation and can relapse into harder drugs under the assumption that he's fine...every Drink Champ's set is littered with vices to choose from, X cannot refuse given that everything was in front of him -- even when the camera cuts away from them using it

NORE should have known better given X's history of substance abuse but he still wanted to have a good time with X for old times' sake, the interview, "entertainment value", smh

but then again, DMX should have gone to some psychotherapist along with rehab a long time ago to cure himself of those past demons, etc to not involve himself with hard drugs ever again

NORE can still have a show without drinking and smoking while talking heavy hip hop stuff, just look at Cam's last sober interview (in fact, NORE's show is even blacklisted on youtube from showing up on your recommendations because it involves drinking and smoking -- NORE's show would get way more views had they removed all that), but NORE's show is built around the concept that people would let loose and say things they wouldn't have said had they not been under the influence (like a hip hop version of Hot Ones, but the guests come prepared because they seen past footage of what other guests have done to not do that)....overall, that show is terrible for guests who have no self control

people need to seek therapy (with the right professional, because some are garbage, or empty out the past with trusting friends) and not think it's a wuss thing to do...X endured everything he's been through until the end.

DMX was shown flowers, was given love, but still indulged himself with hard drugs..people are paying tribute with feelgood stories and makeshift eulogies just to jump on some bandwagon, but they never address the root cause or the underlying truth of what caused X's behavior to be fully functional yet still can't shake his past or addictions. fukk, man. RIP X

When X appeared on his show on the first time, hours before the interview he was sober. At the time i commented it here. At this point and after all this time, i probably cant find that videos of them before the podcast. And during the interview, he can watch how bad X turned from a sober to a complete drunk state in matter of hours. NORE could just not do it or prevent have X doing that in the state he was at the time. We all know how this type of things is seen outside and in the midia.

Crazy how X and Pac were so similar... Down to earth dudes loved by everyone. Rest Easy X
Always was a known thing but you really feel it in this thread, as I go through the pages reading everyone’s posts it’s super apparent how X is for the generation right after mine what Pac was for us. It’s a blessing how long X got to rock in the game if you really look at it. I truly hope people keep his spirit alive and pass him down to future generations, I was thinking about this the other day, Hip Hop is kinda at that age now (for a minute actually) where parents can be teaching their kids about hip hop morals like they do any other aspect of life and society, like if you have a teen who’s growing up listening to whatever “Lil Smokin On Ya Dead Homie” is the front runner currently and your a day one hip hop head you should be sitting your kid down today and letting them know: “This culture you’re growing up in and growing to love, it just lost one of its loudest voices, an originator, a stand up guy and this is what he stood for and this is the kinda man he was and what he contributed to the culture”. We should really pass that kinda shyt down the way parents do with sports and athletes or other genres of music.

Talking about DMX in the past tense is weird as fukk. I was pulling for him and thought he was in a better place after his rehab stint but the devil is always busy. I feel for his numerous children as many of them won't have the pleasure to really know their father.

DMX's music was the soundtrack of my middle and high school years and listening to his music again brings nostalgia of simpler times and of when hip hop as a whole was the greatest show on earth. You put up a good fight D, but the Lord has called you to rest. You'll be missed. I appreciate the most is your authenticity, revealing unabashedly the good, the bad and the ugly and still have your inner good shine through the most. Rest in peace and we thank you for all of what you did for hip hop.

Why yall only blame Nore but yet not blame on Snoop when they did Veruz?. Snoop smoked weed in front of him and both drank alcohol.

I'm bout ready to go off on some white folks at work. I jump on a conference call and as I get on there it's about 7 or 8 40-60 year old white people on there. One was in the middle of saying that DMX had passed away and how sad it was. Another jumps in saying he didn't know he had 11 kids. Then this white bytch chimes in with "probably has a whole bunch of baby mommas too", "you know how that type is". Somebody throws out that he was a great rapper and great at what he did and she throws back out, apparently he was great at making kids and probably doesn't even know most of them.
Sometimes you have to fight white with white, I would go to HR and make a formal report that what she said not only offended you but seemed to have racial undertones connected to it and the tone in her voice felt threatening, she made you feel not only uncomfortable but unsafe.
