Let a dog roam and he'll find his way home
Home of the brave, my home is a cage
And yo, I'm a slave til my home is the grave

Hopefully in a better place :rip:
great metaphors and showings of lyricism, nikkas in here talkin X was only "simple" there is nothing simple about these type of bars .

if you think its simple. You dont know what lyricism is. and how meatphors work.

My favorite artist of all time.

He shaped me as a teenager that was insecure and gave me the fukk it mentally that I have today

I'm hurting right now but I know he doesn't have to deal with that demon that has been following him around since being so young.

I love you and always respect you

RIP DMX

I'm sitting in my car drunk as shyt already going thru the 1st 3 albums

RIP X...late as hell to the thread but grew up listening to his music...

But, let's not act like this wasn't coming. The hard drugs have had a grip on X for years, this was inevitable. A drug addiction plus a lot of disposable income is a recipe for disaster. nikkas start experimenting and before you know it they've got a dependency

nikkas need to just stick to weed the other shyt isn't for us. RIP X

I was watching his Behind the Music special the other night and they predicted this to happen 10 years.. The fact that X held on this long was incredible

RIP to a great.. Peace Dark Man X

What it is, it's the Biz and its dirty
You'll get rich but life expectancy is about 30!
Place of business is the hallways, I've been up for four days
On parole with warrants that'll send me back to Rahway
If I get caught across Jersey state lines
Figure this 9-8 and I been runnin' since 8-9
So that's like 9 years delinquent time, you speak in crime then you know
9 years you owe, get knocked, 9 years you gonna go
No probation or parole more time doin' nothin'
Day room to the yard, writin' rhymes and frontin
Carry nikkas greasy because I'm built like that
Bury nikkas easy 'cause they get killed like that
If you ain't in it wit me then you in my way, but either or
You will respect mine and leave TEC-9 and leave it for dude
The realest you gonna feel is when you face your death
"Sorry, I didn't know" nikka, don't even waste your breath
Coppin' pleas like D why you flippin'
nikkaz know the only thing I'm really scared of is SLIPPIN'
Lettin' a nikka catch you when I got my guard down, so I keep 'em up
Noddin' off with one eye open, I can freak it
But there's gonna be a time when I close 'em both
Lead poisonin', I'm a get hit with an overdose
Over those drug things, crud things
Think I don't know my slug stains, or blood blaze
Raw gun playin' drama, sadness to another nikkas momma
I'mma be the the one that puts you up inside shock trauma
These are troublesome times and the crimes prevail
And the dark side keep a nikka's ass in jail
Bada-boom, bada-bing, some of this and some of that
I gots to boogie for a minute but you know I'm comin' back

My fav DMX track. He spit this track acapella on that Ruff Ryderz DVD back in 2000...Legend

Exactly. I've been expecting this news for years and as soon as it was announced he was in hospital it was obvious it was only a matter of days

I was that little boy with no feelings he talked about on who we be. I never turned to drugs, i grew, i learned..somewhat. But that was more luck and circumstance. I'll never forget X because i am part of what he was. And nobody laid it all out for the world like he did. And when he was up he was all the way up. His energy was unreal and liberating. I'll miss him.. May Allah keep his soul.

Ok so I remember first hearimg of D on Ma$e's Album and my Ears kinda Perked up especially since it was during a Post Pac/Biggie World of Hip Hop. I remember visiting NYC Winter 97 and seeing Mixtapes with his Name next to say Canibus and The Lox but I was skeptical on coppin cause some of the ones I would cop prior had songs that was on Retail joints and I didnt know about the Reputable NY DJs at that time so I was just looking at any old Tape on that Carpet:heh:So in 98 I remember seeing this Flyer with him on it and mentioning the Song" Get at Me Dog" on it and I didnt hear it yet until I saw the Video and I went and got the Single wit Stop Being Greedy(which would Lock me in as a Fan as well as his Verse on Money Power Respect) and a Freestyle joint wit The Lox as the B Sides

When the Album dropped I remember being able to get the Homies who had No Limit joints spinning and throw it in the Rotation during NBA Live Runs and just fukking wit it laying the Foundation for when Flesh Of My Flesh dropped which it dropping that same Year was a Shock:gladbron:

Of course he(as well as the next Gen of Def Jam 98)being the Voltron Head who ushered in a New Era of Rap post Pac/Big,The Source Cover wit the Class of 98,RR Vol 1,The Kurupt Beef(:pachaha:)Belly left so many memories which is why I kinda say 98 was a GOAT Rap Year

Salute to The Greatest,You are Ready To Meet Him now
:mjcry:

:pachaha::Calling Out Names hit my Spotify Random recently and I kinda did say the MOTHERfukk DMX part
but low and to myself because even tho things been Squashed the Song is Fire:guilty:
Im sorry but that blue font is trash. I’m sure you wrote somethin cool but I got a headache trying to ready it
