The family member did not confirm that the vaccine got the singer down but stated that it might have been the cause for his heart attack.

''(DMX) got the vaccine when they opened it up to people over 50. He got it so that he could go travel and perform, stuff like that,'' the family member said in a statement.

He stated that he suspects the vaccine might have caused a negative reaction on the rapper's body leading him to be hospitalized a week later.

''He took that vaccine, and he had a heart attack. I'm not saying the vaccine did it, but he never had a heart attack before,'' the statement read and further stated that his body might have had a "reaction to the vaccine". Also, the name of the vaccine which DMX reportedly took has not been revealed.

The statement also said the family member was "furious" when reports about his drug overdose was all over the news and said if that was indeed true, the doctors would have made it public.

''Everyone keeps saying that (DMX) had a drug overdose. How do they know? I'm in the family and no doctor told me anything about an overdose. Yes he had past issues with drugs. But nobody knows that he had an OD. It's f*****d up that its being reported like that," he said.

Im sure alot of us knew in the back of our heads its gonna happen..

Rest in Power Earl you beautiful flawed soul.. We all have our flaws its just that unfortunately thru the life that u lived You couldnt handle Yours. One things for certain : U made us feel what You were saying in every track. You gave us plenty of amazing music and alot of us grew up with You sharing your pain thru your music...

Im sure we all from that era have stories and moments when we can pinpoint the exact track at a moment in life :

I remember when i lost my cousin and practically cried myself to sleep listnening to slippin for about a week.. Or when I had my first house parties and of course Party Up was a must!

Just know that U dont have to suffer anymore... no pain no addiction no vices... Welcome Home Dog:to:

Watched this a few nights ago. Fun ass scenes with X getting his action hero on...

When I was 6 I used to play the online flash game they had before the movie came out (I think it was on the old Warner Bros website). The game was basically DMX riding on an ATV retrieving diamonds while X Gon Give It To Ya was playing in the background

My mom didn't let me watch the movie when it came out so I would get on the computer everyday and play it while rapping the words

Edit: just found the article about it

The memories
:wow:

R.I.P. X :mjcry:. Can’t tell the story of hip hop without the impact of Earl Simmons

My first time hearing X was on 4,3,2,1. and fukk with his music ever since. Depending on who you ask, not only was he instrumental in bringing hip hop back to the streets with edge and providing a recess from the glossy shining sound, but revitalized Def Jam on the mainstream level.

I recall LL saying on Rock the Bells radio how he was having issues with the label and how Lyor Cohen would yell and tell him “Fukk what you want and DMX was keeping the lights on” or something to that effect.

It's Dark and Hell is Hot was one of the first albums I listened to in secret in JHS because I knew it would be licks if my folks heard me listening to shyt like that

At the time we were still on cassettes, so I had to borrow it from a friend, dub it using my pops boombox, and then play it on this cheap ass walkman that I got from Sports Camp

So sad...so very sad
