Nothing ellie did was important other than the sparse, one time gameplay sequences where they made her important, like the part where you control her and protect Joel.
you asked why is she even here and the "story " explains that. You're on a mission and she has to come with you. She's essentially your companion.

Giving you ammo and occasionally killing enemies doesnt make up for the fact that she destroyed immersion when she would walk out in the middle of gameplay and there be no consequence.
This is pure exaggeration. She does not blatantly walk out in front of enemies. Sure it might "break immersion sometimes but it's a far better compromise than having to essentially make the game have stealth elements while simultaneously having an element that can break it.

Its bad design to have positive consequence and not equally balance negative consequence.
she handles herself. She has a gun and knifem. She's not Ashley who's defenseless. Where is the similarity?

She didnt do anything Joel couldnt do. So again, why is she there?
:dahell:
She's with you because you're taking her somewhere. shyt happens in between. She helps you traverse certain areas like clearing obstacles and stuff. Literally all throughout the game she does this.

Ashley was there to be protected. If you arent supposed to protect Ellie in gameplay why is she there?
Are you trolling?why is ellie with Joel? What's the whole story about?

Giving you ammo is not a good answer when Joel is perfectly capable himself. Why cant she go to the fireflys herself? Because you had to escort and protect her. And that didnt translate to the gameplay.
why? Because it's obviously easier to have someone help a kid who's alone and defenseless initially. Joel needed Ellie just as much as she needed him. Joel gives her permission to wield weapons. She wasn't some random kid found in the slums. Unlike RE4 where you had to rescue someone. You're not rescuing Ellie. Big difference

Thats the definition of an escort mission breh :deadmanny:
you're taking it out of context. It's set up as an escort mission initially. It changes. You're poo purposefully cherry picking the story apart and making it seem simple.

there is no need to convince here, what you're saying is essentially incorrect and can brr r verified but ok.

The fact that they keep changing things up on you really sets things over the top.

1. The chainsaw dudes

2. The first time you see a plaga burst out of someone's head(pause)

3. Those super aggressive dogs

4. The battle with the monster on the water

5. Those giants who could pick you up and throw you

6.. The regenerador monsters and the build up to them

7. The alternate version of regeneradors with spikes bursting out of their body

8. Those invisible bugs

9. The part when you play as Ashley and she has no weapons

10. When you make it to the castle and those cult members are constantly chanting

11. Fighting the blind monster in that little cage and you having to use sound to trick him

12. Running from that thing that was sticking tentacles through the floor trying to get you.

13. The introductions of Krauser, Saddler, etc and the fights against them

14. Watching out for bear traps, explosives traps, etc

The variation was on another level and it felt like natural progression, from what I've seen of the Evil Within they completely missed what made RE4 and just threw a bunch of horror stuff in for the sake of throwing things in. The reason I brought it up is because the same dude who directed it did RE4.

RE4 was a horror setting and also fun at the same time. Also once you beat the game you got 3 new games to play. I was  when I found that out.
summed this shyt up perfectly :wow: them blind wolverine nikkas
