Resetera made me realize im not as left leaning as i thoguht i was

I think most people aren't generally as "left" leaning as they think they are. They just sort of get duped into this fanatical shyt because media and corporations start playing off the insecurities of these types of people(the resetera type of cats) so they for fear of ostracization or whatnot just agree with it even when it doesn't really make much sense. I used to be on there heavy years ago and over time I noticed I started to feel like I'm just parroting a rhetoric that can't withstand scrutiny because the moment questions were being asked everyone would dogpile that person into not asking it again or they'd just ban them.
I had some weirdo damn near lose his mind because I critiqued something about Persona 5 lol.


I'd equate paragraphs and word salads with facts and after a while you realize it's just a bunch of bullshyt they bully nikkas into cosigning. Once I saw how LBGTQ started to dominate anything that had "black" in front it, I knew it was over. They'll just throw the goofiest nikkas in front of a bunch of queer and weird cacs and front like that's some sort of progress. That's why I don't care for any symbolic gestures or white "allies" who act like they know more for a people than themselves. You start to say this, and immediately you're branded a traitor or c00n for not being "progressive" and then they just fearmonger you with rightwing scare tactics as if that's not already immediately apparent.

I'd say being completely loyal to one "side" is dangerous and quite stupid and why I hardly ever post outside of here because it becomes this tiring feat of trying to out militant each other which solves nothing. If you're working with white folks, voting for white folks, defending white dominated companies, don't try to tell me which white folk is better or whatnot because it still comes down you having to bite your tongue. nikkas be acting like they're ultra black but cry at the sight of someone not liking a specific type of white person like how you see on here when dudes get emotional if someone critiques a non right wing white person.

I tried to ride for them during the GAF days but them dudes were obviously not as black as they came off to be . Breh it was different on GAF because we had bish as a head mod. I swear as toxic as new GAF, I’m kinda impressed at how well they kept all the extremes at bay.

Especially knowing how toxic Era became. It’s pretty funny to watch it begin to topple

It's worse outside the platform because people refuse the concept of agree to disagree, they want to be right at all times, no different from those MAGA folks, however, they at least not trying to harm/kill black people like those MAGAs are.

I wouldn’t necessarily consider them a good example of left leaning. Their driving principle is LGBT rights rather than being leftist.

These are the type of people that will lecture you over taking advantage of a price error online.

There’s an almost artificial layer of “being a good person” over everything they say but deep down their guiding light is the fact that they’re gay or trans and the discrimination they face for being that. I get the feeling that the only reason they care about anything is because they can relate to it through that.

The problem with Resetera and its offshoots is that you have a bunch of white LGBT folks over there who a) are racist, but not willing to confront their racism and b) are in the majority and are excited to be the ones to push the minority around. I mean, many of them have been in that type of majority before as whites, but they're very focused on being in the majority as LGBT-ers.

Plus, a lot of them seem miserable in general, and an online community where they are important is their escape.

Have a community based on a bunch of people who are blind to their own racism on the one hand, and who are outcasts because of their sexual orientation or gender on the other hand, and you have the perfect storm. They act like a$$holes because they've always wanted to be in the majority and act like a$$holes, while not recognizing that they've always been part of the majority when it comes to race and have a lot of racist beliefs that they're not willing to examine.

I get that online communities tend to be insular a lot of the time, but those communities are especially insular in unhealthy ways. A lot of those folks need therapy and to make IRL friends, not to be part of a message board clique.
