If I said Preval is the greatest Haitian President in the last 70 years, why would I be wrong? (I'm really asking, tell me why I'm wrong.)
  • He got elected fairly.
  • He negotiated and procured --against US wishes-- the most beneficial program for Haiti (Petrocaribe) in the last 70 years.
  • He finished his term.
  • He left office as and when he should.
When compared to all the other Presidents in the last 70 years, why wouldn't he be number 1?

Can't argue against this.

He did the same to Capois. Somebody asked why he was killed earlier in this thread. There were so many factions at the time. And Henri used forced labor on his people. He grew very unpopular.

King Henri was the top goon of Haiti.... a German painter visited Haiti in 1816 and Henri killed him because he felt disrespected.

:mjcry:

Capois was known for his extraordinary courage and his herculean bravery at the Battle of Vertières in which the French general Viscount of Rochambeau even called a brief cease-fire to congratulate him.

On October 8, 1806, Capois was on his way to Cap-Haïtien when he rode into a trap set for him, and was killed by assassins on the orders of Henri Christophe.

They called him the black Achilles. The Haitian Revolution would make such a great mini series.

Colombia confirmed these guys are retired military officers, so they really were mercenaries.

Could also be that they were also part or affiliated with the FARC too. If drug related , cartels? Who knows. I wonder if Maduro is shytting on his pants thinking he'll be next.

Toussaint could have done so much good. What did they do? Gave him up to the French. shyt the French respected him more than the slaves he fought along with did.

Dessalines who was part of the group that betray toussaint, got assassinated and betrayed.

then the French put in that debt which fcked the country up economically.

Haiti as a country should have been a great country. But greed and corruption of man fcked shyt up.

To be honest Toussaint Louverture was the only one who kept everybody on check. He was very popular with the people and all these generals respected the hell out of him. He defeated the mulattos and was a brilliant political and military tactician. Had he lived and didn’t fall for the trap Napoleon set for him Haiti would be very different today. After he died Dessalines to his place but he didn’t have the calm collected leadership as Toussaint. Dessalines was a hot head and that’s what gotten him killed. Imma say something controversial but Dessalines was a great wartime general but a terrible peacetime leader. Toussaint was the only one that could calm down Dessalines. And Dessalines respected the hell out of Toussaint. Same with Christophe, San Souci, Capoix La Morte etc. Once he died the black generals united to defeat the French. After the war they turned against each other. Smh

Moise should have been left his post after his term ended but that power lure was too great for him. He was slowly moving towards a dictatorship. So the bourgeoisie removed him :yeshrug: .

Wait...what?:dahell:
Did they rewrite Histoire D'Haiti since i left haiti or something?
I’ve always been taught that as a kid and it’s well known that Toussaint Louverture was betrayed by his own ppl(Dessalines, Petion and Christophe included).

Facts.

Thats not even a controversial statement bro.... thats facts.... Dessalines would snap for the smallest shyt.... I think thats where Henri picked up the same attitude.

Alot of people say Toussaint would be a billionaire CEO in the modern era because of how skilled he was in managing people & emotions.

Toussaint was doing business with Great Britain, France, and the United States and controlling all these African killers at the same time.

Also Toussaint was an old head... he was almost 60 during the revolution.

Dessalines was in his 30s.... Henri was in his 30s.... Petion was in his 20s.

Toussaint was the big OG!
