Naw, he won't be a better fit offensively. Not at all.
I think he would....I'd take the risk of Josh's bad shot selection for his threat as a slasher or another target to finish at the rim and screen/roll partner for nash...over Pau having all these supposed "mismatches" against smaller players that he NEVER exploits, or his superior mid range game that hasn't been as good as advertised in years and hesitates to shoot anyway...I had already grown weary of hearing all the abstract "oh pau's basketball IQ is so sky high" rhetoric while watching him get abused on both sides of the court by undersized 6'6-6'8 sfs masquerading as 4s...but now that they're gonna be running Dantoni's offense instead of a structured one like the princeton or the triangle....naw, I'm done...i'd take Josh...and even if I were wrong and what he brings isn't a fit better than Pau, i'd take the hit offensively for how he better matches ups defensively...cause Pau's gonna be pretty next to useless in potential match ups against MIA and OKC

Jsmoove is far from a stretch 4, he's athletic as fukk though and would eat in PNR he's damn near retarded though. Hawks wouldn't do this though smoove is expiring they want to have cap room.

The Hawks would be fools for even thinking twice about making this trade. They don't get any better and trade a player in his prime for one possibly on the downside.

Take the risk with his bad shot selection? That's equivalent to playing Russian roulette with six rounds. Trust me, you don't want none of that. D'Antoni's offense will just give him more situations to put up shyt from 16-ft out. Teams will just beg him to shoot off the PNP/PNR and they'll stay deeper in the paint when they see him with the ball - low% chance (compared to Pau) they fall for p-fakes to draw them out. Yes, his athleticism will enable him to captalize on more drives to the hole than Gasol - but not to the point where it will outweigh Pau's production-ability = ability to hit from the outside or re-set with Nash or make a play for x-player; things which Smith is damn near incapable of doing. Plus you've got the whole free throw situation as well, having Smith and Howard at the line in close games (which will be inevitable in the playoffs) is heart attack material; the chances of BOTH of them hitting FTs (in a game) to a beneficiary-level for the Lakers is too low to even think about.

It's really no use moving Gasol now. This team's window is this season and this season only; moving him for Smith would just be counter-productive. Pau knows what it takes to get the job done, not saying he'll get it done but this team doesn't have time to be mixing and matching 'big pieces' in hopes for a remedy, that they might not even need.

Lakers have more of a chance winning a ship this season with Pau then they do with Smith. That I'm sure of.

Laker Fans, keep your noses out of our business :hmm:

You should want to fukk wit us, Memphis is :whoo: after doin business with this notable GOAT franchise...

The more I think about this, I think we should pass. Our defense with Josh would be :whew: but our offense would be worse. If Jordan Hill can develop some type of mid range I'd love to see Pau come off the bench for Dwight so he can do more work in the post. He's a glorified Odom at this point.
