ew... I love thompson but he's probably a 12 million a year player at most. everyone is getting overpaid
Parsons got 15 million. Klay should get as much as he can. But I don't think klay is better than parsons. Parsons is the all around better player.

That's why I say do away with max contracts. It's crazy that teams would rather overpay 2nd and 3rd tier guys or guys with potential rather than pay the true max guys their actual worth. That's why the CBA will never be fixed though. These lesser guys like getting paid and they outnumber the top guys. Brilliant chess move by the owners.
Remove max deals and Klay still seeks $15+ mil. There's no max in MLB yet BJ Upton suckered Atlanta into giving him $75 mil. Bad or overpaid deals will exist regardless simply due to supply and demand

And still his deal is nowhere near the likes of ARod, Miggy, Verlander, Puljos etc. Meanwhile Klay and others are getting that same max that Bron received. People keep talking about the market when the market is capped and flawed. Everybody focuses on what the likes of Hayward or Parsons or even Gortat are getting and totally ignore the flip side. These guys are getting/looking to get the same money KD is getting on a second deal. It's a only a few mil less than Lebron. Overpaid isn't an issue if everyone can get it.

A union looks out for everyone, not just the 10 players you feel should be paid more. Sure the superstars should get more but everyone will as a result of that and the league can't sustain that

Limiting what players can make, both as a whole and individually, does not look out for anyone. However, as usual, divide and conquer has worked to perfection and has taken players from unlimited contract lengths and salaries to 4 year "max" deals. The league sustained the previous system for decades.

The league also wasn't paying anyone big time money like that.

Michael Jordan had a hall of game career the first go round and all he received was $24.9 mil. The same year Jordan got the $30 mil for 1 year, KG signed a backloaded deal that paid him $21 mil on average. There isn't a single business in America that's ready for that kind of spike, and they wouldn't be ready for an NBA world where the LeBron James's AND Ricky Rubio's of the world are making $35-40 mil annually

Obviously there is because I don't recall the league going under immediately thereafter. Everybody and their mama didn't start getting those KG deals. It was KG and Shaq and that was it. 2nd tier guys weren't even dreaming about looking for that kind of loot. If an owner was to pay Ricky fukkin Rubio $35 mil then they better not fix their mouth to say anything about surviving a damn spike. We are talking about a capped sport were there are already limitations in place. So there really is no need for individual limitations unless of course you want to use them as a means of getting the rank and file behind you in order to checkmate the players. Paying Lebron $40 mil doesn't impact your bottom line as the cap is the cap. It's not like baseball where it all comes down to what an owner is willing to pay. Speaking of spikes that ARod deal was quite a spike. Baseball didnt' shut down or institute a max salary.

Optimistic But I Got Hands Tho
Bill Duffy (Klay & Wiggins agent), Mychael Thompson (Klay's dad), and Filp Saunders all were college teammates at Minnesota.

:ohhh:

Thompson grew up playing ball with Love and in LA. Klay is apparently salty that Flip wouldn't do a deal for Love in exchange for Lee, Barnes, and picks because he wants Love in GS with him, Steph, Iggy, and Bogut.

I see what you're saying now @tremonthustler1

:ohhh:

Duffy is using Wiggins to make Flip get off of the "We need Klay back or no deal" tip.
