Id put a caveat there of if a democratic Rep does not mention anything about black people, ask them why it's not on their agenda or vote for someone who does say something about us. Hold them accountable. If they start up with that "minority" and "people of color" talk...:camby:

No they don't. It is sad actually.

The fact that there is a black middle class is amazing, if you really sit back and think about it.

After WW2 the sevicemens readjustment act helped veterans secure home loans and business loans. It's highly regarded as the catalyst for what we call the middle class today.

Guess who couldn't participate?

That act was passed in 1944. Not so long ago. In spite of this black families managed to gain a foothold in america.

You want to guess who was at the forefront for Hispanics to get the right to vote in the this country?
Google Barbara Jordan.

In 1975 she pushed legislation to remove language discrimination from voting precincts.

Everywhere...You never there.
It’s three things: familial, cultural and entreprenuerial...

... black people got hoodwinked a looong time ago on multiple levels ... and still face structural and systemic barriers ... but, black people KNOW too much now to not continue to unlearn and apply what needs to be done. :snoop:

As others have said, first and foremost it’s starts with the family ... if y’all so called “woke” niccas, 1. Ain’t APPLYING UJAMAA (cooperative economics) within your fam and extended fam and TEACHING that concept to your children as a another form of application/practice, then you ALREADY LOST!

That’s the first way to depgrogram the future of the black race and return to empowerment ... everything else is an extension of that .

And if you’re childless and “woke” with some disposable income , and you’re not outchea practicing cooperative economics with your fam and community and trying to empower then you LOST !

It’s gonna be YALL’s fault

Dog they do exactly what we use to do .
Use our own community to get shyt done .

If you want something done you don't call a white own company . You call your friends father who has his own business .

That way the money circulates within the community .

Others see your value and you can grow from that .
that's what white people do too. And Asians also.

Black people dont do that because we dont believe in racial protectionism. Blacks did it in the past because people were forced to, but when given the chance to work with "everyone" and promote equality, black people always will choose that over racially or ethnically restrictive practices.

we are a welcoming people.

I'd say that white people market their products far more aggressively to the point where we associate it with quality. Black people own shops too, black people create clothes and furniture and other items but we don't know. We already invest in black business when we go to a barbershop or when we shop at black markets or restaurants. We need to keep that momentum through to the banks we use or the clothes we rock. These days if I want to get a nice jacket or clothing items I'll directly buy from a black retailer before I buy from a European or American brand.

We need to know which businesses have our back and give to them and we need to dead this perception that white owned products are somehow better. Shout out to Kanye 'it ain't Ralph tho' West :sas2:

i agree. black people already support black business heaavy, but we are unique that we support everyone else business too. we dont avoid asian stores because they are asians. we dont shun Hispanic services because they are Hispanics. We are supportive and welcoming of everyone and we are mistreated because of that kindness in return.

"Hispanic" is a catch-all term, it doesn't even cover the same grouping as "Latino" which makes any real analysis difficult.
Are we talking about Mexicans? Educated or uneducated? Are we talking about Puerto-Ricans or Dominicans? Salvadorans? Cacs from Spain?
Using the catch-all term is lazy and covers up specific trends.

Where are they moving to? LA/SF/SJ? DFW? Houston?

What are there schools like?

I can't glean much off of this shytty article of a shytty report.

Beard and Hair Trimmer | Bevel

look at some of the negative reviews on the site. Especially one from "Jorge" and Richard", thaat is how black business are targeted.

People are quick to speak out when they ind out black people are in control., but many of the postitive reviews show the support we have for each other.

B-b-but Hispanics are an oppressed group. But I thought their struggle is similar to ours? Black and brown unity right???

:mjlol:
I don't think a growing grouping of Hispanic/Latinos that are successful changes the fact that they're still targeted and sometimes killed by police, incarcerated at high rates, or deal with lower-quality schools.
AAs and Natives deal with far-worse, but there is some validity there.

They also have an economic base in their home countries, and networks formed by decades of living in close proximity.
They're also immigrating after a lot of strides were made in civil rights in the US, largely by AAs.
