What now? :dwillhuh:

Immigrants tend to work harder than natives. Hispanics aren't special. They're just following the same immigrant trend as everyone else.

Do more AAs need to have the mindset of an immigrant but move with the authority as the creators of a country? We all know that everyone needs to stop being racist towards us. But we can control what we do before we can change what they do.

That's the thing, we can't! That's not our experience. There has been a strategic and willful destruction put in place by powers beyond our control since the day we were so-called free. We will never be able to benefit from the "opportunities" here, because they were not designed for us and still aren't welcoming or foster any room for growth. I just heard a story on NPR today where the USDA purposefully took down a black own farmed. Starting by refusing help to fill out the application, lying about the condition of the couples credit, with holding payment of operating funds, etc. Until eventually the sheriff evicted them from their home of 20 years AND took their 3 dogs that they owned a puppies, even though they were pets. It was sad. If anything African Americans need to migrate to other countries for education and "culture". That's the only way we could adopt the mindset of an immigrant, is to actually be one and be around others.

Mexicans are the hardest working people I’ve ever been around. They always have a hustle, oftentimes multiple hustles and their women appreciate men who work blue collar jobs, will rarely catch a Mexican women getting pregnant by someone who refuses to work.

They also have strong family values, practice group economics and they own most of the businesses in their communities.
This is true. Mexicans work hard af

I don’t have a hard working gene in my body prolly one of the laziest people on this site :sadbron:

Well, it's important to remember that a lot of "Hispanics" pass for and consider themselves to be white. So things are inherently easier for that segment of the populace.

That said, hopefully people aren't using this as a rationalisation to support Trump and his bullshyt. :scust:

I agree with most of you said. But clearly some of us have benefited some of the opportunities here. We're not completely cut off from those benefits. Plenty of AAs on this very board are 6F6Cs. Also, if many of us already feel like we are not citizens in our own country, then isn't that in a way feeling like an immigrant?

Exactly. Immigrants from Africa, Caribbean, Asia, Middle East, wherever, all value hard work and family when they come here because they have little choice. People are just used to associating this with Mexicans because they're so many of them here, and they see it often.

Eh.......

Mexicans are hard working........

They also exhibit the same pathologies any other group does when living at or below the poverty line.

that's what happens when they are allowed to breed like cockroaches without repercussion.

In that case, they should be poorer for it. More kids===less wealth saved up. Hispanics embraced the trades and owning businesses, while many AAs are allergice to plumbing, electrician work, etc. Blacks used to be majority of construction workers in the south before 1930s.

I'm not saying that black people haven't advanced or can't advance, but more so that discrimination never leaves us, no matter how much we make. I know six figure AA professionals and they still make less than their white counter parts, have to put in five times as much effort, get stared at funny riding in their own neighborhoods, etc. Some even live paycheck to paycheck because they are just bad with money, which is a byproduct of forced illiteracy that's gong to take a few generations to correct. I just don't think people understand the magnitude of our experience and it's impact for generations. It's not just something easy to undo.

Nah not from my experience

Never had a Mexican come up to me and beg for money, have seen plenty beg for work though. I’ve seen them sell flowers on the side of the road, sell oranges, work all sorts of crazy ass jobs. Those people work hard and family is everything to them. Hardly seen any Mexican feminists...their women respect traditional gender roles

Their women value hard working men as well

Thomas Sowell wrote extensively on this.
And they don’t even go to college like that :sas2:

Similar to Italian Americans.
