If you can afford the taxes, and have an interest in living there or near there, yeah. It's a pretty decent risk imo.

What they really need to do is sell property out to doomsday preppers and amateur filmmakers.

Places like this would be heaven for these kind of hobbyists, and imagine the action scenes that could be filmed here? Funds would go to the city, and tourism would go up so people could see where the scenes would be filmed or some spots where they can prepare for the apocalypse. This can help Detroit's climb out of the red.

I love the old architecture there, it's too bad there aren't grants or people redeveloping it. Sadly the people that will develop it more than likely won't be from there and more than likely wont have a genuine interest in the community as it was. Which in Detroit's case is.... is erm up for interpretation at this point.

A big part of it, but there was a black flight too in the early 2000s....now nikkas are feeling real crunchy because white folks (especially the youn small biz owners) are moving into the city again and they are locked into mortgages in lame ass cities like Southfield and Oak Park with few sustainable industries and not much revenue besides income and property taxes and virtually no cultural attractions to speak of. Detroit about to look like Paris in the next 15 years with the rich and powerful living in the city proper and all the surrounding areas being poor as shyt.


The biggest problem is the concentration of wealth in only a few areas of Detroit and the lack of willingness to spread that north, east or west, of Midtown. Us natives have to embrace this shyt and be willing to open them in other places in the city. A dope coffee house would KILL in Sherwood Forrest/University, or the Old Redford area...we need to try and expose the rest of the city to these commerce opportunities.... but like i said, if Michigan do like how Washington and Colorado did...im getting that small biz loan and opening a hash bar ASAP

Loser ass Rick Snyder and the GOP legislature killed the film tax breaks. Too much money going to the cities that they had no hand in, and it was empowering the poorer suburbs like Allen Park and the sort.

Drove up 10 Miles to Royal Oak and it looks like a Arab/White Utopia.

thats about right, only popping areas in Detroit are Midtown, Downtown, Sherwood, University, the Villages and Rosedale (which is only nice because it sits next to the legendarily fukked up Brightmoor)

Detroit is gonna be one of the up and coming cities in America, although blacks aren't gonna be allowed to live there anymore

First, investors are buying basing businesses here and buying property like it's going out of style.
Dan Gilbert has said he wants to knock down every blight house , Only to start taking over the hood as well as downtown
And newly elected mayor Duggan's hidden agenda of moving people out of their neighborhoods to take it over is gonna start taking place. Many people don't see it, but I guarantee Duggan is gonna move all poor people to one small part of the city, then make everything else so expensive that only whites can live there
