This is my main gripe with those X-Men films. They miss the mark when it comes to being discriminated against in society. Being black, a woman, and a mutant...

Breh we've been over this lol. You can have a great comic book movie that is very smart and touch on societal issues just like some of the best books do. That Green Lantern/Green Arrow comic from the 70s was for "kids" but it talked about racism, discrimination, drug use, war, poverty, etc. Dark Knight was all about terrorism and the response to it. And the original x men comics are all about racial discrimination or any discrimination. Stan said he pitted Professor X to be MLK and Magneto to be Malcolm. He always had something to say about any major thing of the day and incorporated it into his comics. Harry's drug abuse, the discrimination of all kinds in x men, America's obsession with radioactivity and cold war fears of what would happen if they dropped the bomb on us, etc

The allusions can still be there and are still there in some cases. The X men movies still deal with discrimination obviously or at least they have. I know there's a subplot in the new one of mutants still being persecuted and hunted down for being different and not getting fair trials, etc. But just like in comic books, not all of the shyt is overt. Some of it is in the background, some of it is layered in, and in some cases, it doesn't exist at all. But Dark Knight made a billion dollars and it's got a lot going on with it and says a lot

Age of Ultron is "getting it right"? The movie was very average, polarizing at best and Jurassic World and Fast 7 made more money than it. People talk about all this shyt about laying the groundwork and you got dinosaurs and Dom and Brian doing more then they did..

After Man of Steel DC should have focused on getting people invested in Superman
Instead WB ran right back to Zack Snyder and told him do whatever you want fam

I always said that Marvel insults their viewers low key by conditioning them not to strive to be better. Dumbing down their dialogue and storylines to make the most $ is what they bank on.

They dumb it down somewhat to include kids. You know the people who get most excited about superheroes? You want a movie for you, Marvel makes movies for as many demos as possible.

Why would it get sold?

On the television side, cord cutting is killing the business. Television Advertising is changing where it's hard to recoup a return on a investment. On the film side they haven't done a great job at incorporating their property that they currently own into successful films. There were talks earlier about Fox Corp buying Time Warner, which could happen. Also, there were talks that Apple might buy them, but I don't believe that will happen.

Wow, the pre opening stank around this is starting to get funky.

But Snyder already said he wasn't trying to do what Marvel does. I think the public will appreciate it, if it's a decent film atleast.
