You don't get it, black people asking to amend for wrong doings does not mean black people shouldn't build their communities up with their own funds.Whether black people get them or not is not the issue at hand. Its black people demanding back the fruits of labor and pain they received for years on end. Stop thinking reparations are unjustified hand outs. If you own money to the banks, irs, people etc they come to claim their money. They don't sit around and wallow and complain about not getting their money, it's the same principal.

Also, would an Ethiopian American get one? How about a second generation Nigerian American. Both african american but neither was a descendant of the trans-atlantic slave trade.

How about caribbeans? Someone of jamaican or haitian descent who has lived in NYC since the 60s? Jamaica was colonized by Great Britain right? Should a jamaican descendant in NYC get reparations? Haitians were the first independent black nation in the western hemisphere. Would they get reparations?

No, they wouldn't get reperations from the U.S. government. They weren't descendants of black american slaves.

Folks from the carribean--Jamaicans and Haitians in your example--will have to look at the U.K. and France respectively for reparations.
