That was in Toronto. Hogan first WWE single match in like 10 years, man. NWO or not... Hogan was getting cheered that night. NWO were more anti heros than villians. A lot of fans like the NWO.

Rock was getting stale as fukk too on like a 2 1/2 year face run. Back then... Face and heel runs weren't fukking 5 years long.

It was a lot of circumstances coming together in such a true once in a lifetime match, but Rock through Summerslam 2002 was getting soft boos to end that face runs, anyways
The Rock came out to some of the biggest pops in pro wrestling history in 2002..the Draft Raw..the Seattle Raw....lol. NY and Toronto don't represent the world of wrestling. They ended up looking like hypocrites in the end..turning on Brock two years later and you can't mention Hogan in a gathered Canadian crowd without him getting booed out now.

That was purely due to nostalgia and that WM was in Skydome where they had WM6.

You couldn't help but cheer Hogan or want to join in with the crowd THAT night.

Its different now in hindsight

I don't know why die-hards are always hesitant to admit, the Rock from Summer of 99-all of 2000 was bigger than Austin ever was
austin in 98 early 99 is arguably the.most.popular wrestler of all time lol
his mr.mahon angle brought a dying franchise back to life lol
your nuts lol

this "out drew" shyt doesnt even make sense since without austins 98-99, wwe doesnt have the crazy momentum to have success in future years when he wasnt even present

not to mention the insane ratings they were getting as opposed to years before. stone cold laid down the foundation. no one who lived thru that era and isnt a stan thinks da rock did more for da business than stone cold lol

matter fact, those stone cold rock feuds were instrumental to the rocks career and popularity lol

I'll say this much. I'm a 24 year old. And the first wrestler I ever knew about years before I even started watching wrestling was the rock.. I'm talking going all the way back to 2000 when I was only 4 years old, I have vivid memories of the rock than I do of austin

Also I have a hard time believing hogan austin was always the plan before rock hogan. Austin was a damn mid carder in 2002. He was on his last legs, and nobody really gave a damn about him anymore. Meanwhile, the rock was still the most popular wrestler in the business, had one foot in Hollywood, it makes no sense why vince would go with austin over rock at that point. I never believed that rumor. Vince is all about the money. He knows the business more than everybody on here. He knows there was more money to be made with rock vs hogan than austin vs hogan, which is why he went with that. Austin was never no plan a

yeah your not old enough to get it
people in their 30s have a better idea of how everything happened.

and its been confirmed by all parties involved that austin vs hogan was the plan but they couldnt agree to a finish. hogan was fine wit losing to da rock, but didnt want to lose to austin because he was considered the other "top" guy and he thought it might mess wit his legacy.

and austin didnt wanna lose to hogan for da same reason. losing to da rock wasnt as big of a deal to either of them

Nothing racist about that

Hogan was a bigger legend in the wrestling business at that point

Same with Austin and Rock

The way I see it Austin and Hogan are A1 and A2 on the all time list

Rock and Cena are more like B1 and B2

Nah its more the smark Toronto crowd. Before WCW was bought out Goldberg wrestled Curt Henning on a Nitro in Toronto and the crowd was rooting for Henning all the way. Even though Bill was supposed to the good guy.

kind to think of it, didn’t Henning get over with the rap is crap country song even though he was heel? :lupe:

And based on Goldbergs name the crowd probably knew he the type to shop at HEB. So good amount of wrestling fans are probably racist.

DDP was a face and they booed the shyt outta him against Hogan.
