it’s the small shyt like this that made the simpsons classic. They fell way the fukk off when the OG writers left

Most of the original writers left after season four, but the show was still putting out classic episodes for years after that.

It didn't start getting :flabbynsick: until season nine or ten.

I remember feeling like the Simpsons fell off around the time Flanders wife died, the episode when they were in a Japan game show and the episode when they were getting hustled by the father son duo at the carnival. All around the same season.

they still had bangers in seasons 9 and ten tbh.

But you could put seasons 1-10 of the simpsons up against any art and it would hold its own. Just art in general, not just TV shows.

I kept watching by force of habit until around 2009 and would still watch for the next few years if it happened to be on but yeah it really stopped being funny for real around 2002, nowadays you couldn't pay me to sit through a whole episode.

Yeah, they were all from different seasons, but from the same era (seasons 9-12).

Season nine was when Mike Scully took over as showrunner and more of the older writers started leaving. A lot of people blame Scully for making the show decline, but it was going to happen regardless. It's not normal for a show to be GOAT-level after nine years, and there were more cartoons coming out that were inspired by The Simpsons and had new, fresh ideas.

I think prime Simpsons might be the greatest run any television series has ever had. You're talking about a minimum of eight seasons of classic episodes. Most shows don't even get past three or four years before they start falling off and The Simpsons was able to stay consistent for almost a decade. :mindblown:
