Our VCR kept eating up tapes, so my parents decided to upgrade to a DVD player. The thing was they didn't buy any movies for it. So for like a week or so it was unused till it was my sister's birthday and someone gave her Fast and Furious on DVD. We popped it in and it seemed like all our jaws dropped at how clear everything looked. :whoo:

I think we all started thinking why didn't we get a DVD player earlier :heh:

Fight Club

First ones i remember owning.

And a few other choice selections :shaq:

WM 15 was the first and only wrestling DVD release for a long time. I had to get it soon as I got a player.

Seeing the Rock at his heel pinnacle walk down the aisle in crystal clear quality and 5.1 surround :wow:

I'll say this much though, DVD cases look classier than Blu Ray cases :manny:. Not much of a collector (I don't care to own a collection really) but Blu Ray's look like they belong in a nursery.

My first DVD was Snatch that my brother bought for us, and we all gathered around the PS2 and watched it in awe. :wow:

Back then, DVD's used to come with nice art on the physical disc, now everything comes with that same lousy grey overlay :upsetfavre:

I will say the companies were a million times more imaginative with the DVD cases and the inside artwork .. compared to the generic shyt most blu's have.

like the pulp fiction dvd came with a menu for that diner :heh:

the blu has nothing

was thinking earlier though thats its funny CDs have been around for decades yet movie formats change every few years

That jump was crazy back in the day. My dad bought a new 50 inch Sony tv, and Toshiba dvd player from best buy. First movie I ever saw on It was Behind Enemy Lines. Lol
my dad not knowing you didn't have to rewind dvds

Dad :birdman: Make sure you rewinds those after you done!

Me :sas1: You don't have to

Dad:usure:

Me:sas2: Yup

Dad:ohhh::mindblown::banderas:

:shaq:Also that transition of porn from VHS to DVD was:blessed: No more waiting on your favorite chick to pop up. No more hitting the tracking button on your VHS to stop the picture from jumping.

The best part for me about the DVDs to me was the commentary. No longer did you have to wait until "Making of..." came on to hear cast/crew talk about the movie lol.
