When @Home came out in the late 90s/early 2000s... parents got that shyt and we never looked back 
except a few months when I got my first PC when I was a teenager... had to use trial dial-up internet for a few months just I couldn't get on their DSL yet

... but whatever you leave it on overnight...then you wake up the next morning and go into the computer room (real nikkas had a computer in a room with nothing else in it and the shyt was literally referred to as "the computer room" )...you go in with the lotion on some 
shyt and right off the bat before you even get to the chair you know something is wrong cause you glance at the completion bar and it's supposed to be green for 100% completion but it is still white or yellow and you look at it and that shyt say 17.7% complete and you and you just put the lotion back in the bathroom and throw the toilet paper in the trash
Or you downloading some Ebony Ayes piff at 11:00 pm and it should be done by 2:00 am so you won't even have to wait until the morning to get it in
...and then at 12:52 am you here the modem try to reconnect and now your 2:00 am session is pushed back to 4:00 am and fukk it might as well wait until tomorrow

Believe it or not. Dial up still exists. I bullshyt you not. I was in this podunk town Merritt Island at the mall getting Sbarro's pizza. I asked the dude what was taking so long. He apologized and said his credit card system is on dial up.
