Peeps was really saying Microsoft shouldn't have made the Series S behind the comments Remedy made. Only to find out the game is perfectly fine on Series S.:martin:
Game running well on S still doesn't change the fact that Series S was a mistake. I understand the idea of Series S, but there's no way that console will survive the entire gen. If console cycles were shorter like 4-6 years. Then the series S would make perfect sense to have an affordable next gen option for consumers. However, that is not the case with console gens usually lasting 6-8 years these days. We're in year 3 and we're already seeing devs having issues with Series S and it even resulted in Microsoft getting a game of the generation type of game at a later date than Playstation.

Nice to see the game perform well for Series S owners, but Microsoft needs to never do this idea again because it only hamstrings game development for all parties.

Once developers stop using those last gen engines and do current gen stuff like remedy is doing, Microsoft's studios themselves need to lead the way however.
Honestly, the Switch 2 might have saved the series s because third-party devs don't want to miss out on 100m+ install base.

Just because people on forums keep saying this, doesn’t make it true.

As of now in real life Series S has handled the most advanced and demanding next gen games just fine

Alan Wake is viewed by manny as one of the best looking and most advanced games ever, graphically and the series s handles it really well, even performs better than PS5 at its target resolution and settings.

If you watch the DF video this is one of the first next gen games to REALLY optimize for series s. It wasn’t just cutting the resolution or lowering shadows etc. Seems they really went in and optimized the graphical detail to fit within the series s spec, and in turn those optimizations where used on the PS5/SX to offer a performance mode.

If anything, devs putting in a little extra work to get the series s version working correctly is a good thing for the performance of the more powerful machines.

Can’t claim the series s is holding anything back when the stronger consoles can’t hit their performance targets on their own.

Why was Baldur's Gate 3 delayed on the Xbox platform? What caused that delay? Must have been the Series X right?

You didn’t hear? Its the devs fault, they’re lazy.

If y’all gone use BG3, you must go by what the devs say…

no??
Nah just essentially quoting what y’all have been saying.

If they had an entirely separate team for the series s and quit being lazy it would have been out on Xbox consoles already.

Right?

right…

I’ve never said anything about them being lazy,

They said it themselves, they didnt have the resources to get all versions done at once.

Not even sure what the debate is about at this point.

I think it does hold back because it's wasted resources trying to figure out optimization to make series s at a serviceable level. Unsure if we can blame series S, but Forza having delayed features could've been a result of series s because resources could've been made to have those features at launch. Plus, we have the whole BG3 situation, and is only year 3 of the console. I think some of the stuff is a bit overblown because devs had made it work, but I worry for that console once we hit year 5 of the console gen.

Nobody said “special attention” All platforms get individual optimization time. As long as there are enough Series S out there devs will support it. Has nothing to do with playstation.

Sony stan musings.

It was testified in court that xbox users and gamepass users specifically spend more money on gaming

Poor devs gotta do a little work to get games out :stopitslime:

You can’t even hear half of what he says and he for sure says literally NONE of what the cac says in the tweet.

That dude is the fanboyest fanboy on the whole fukkin internet, The fact that you bring his content here is laughable.

all of these twitter fanboys on either side are all 2 sides of the same coin. I see all of the cringey Xbox equivalents get posted here often :yeshrug:
