religion vs mythology

shouldn't religion be equated as myth? the same aspects that dwell in the religious fallacy also dwell in common myths in the same sense. compare "god" (Jehovah, Yahweh, Allah, etc..) to Zeus; there are extreme parallels to the paranoia the citizens that worship/worshipped these gods, which includes the mindset that "your always being watched" and "I must praise him or ill burn in hell/avernus". although we as a people continue to blissfully praise ignorance, while at the same time we reject that religion shouldn't be included in mythology. I mean literally the bible, Qur'an, Torah, etc.. consists of a bunch of fabled stories that base on pure speculation. basically religion is myth or folklore...

Zeus is anthropomorphic and supposedly lived on a mountain. And you're comparing that to the creator of the universe in which that mountain accounts for less than 1 billionth of?

The only difference is time and amount of followers. I'm sure sometime in the future they will be looking at Christianity, Islam, and so on in the same light we look at Norse Gods and Greek Mythology.

I'm simply pointing out that the comparison makes no sense. Validity is in the eye of the beholder. What makes atheism or agnosticism more valid than theism other than what a person believes?

Your definition in the OP says "stories that are not true". If a person were to believe in Zeus they would not consider it mythology.

I don't think atheism or agnosticism is any more valid than deism, but I'm not sure I'm willing to extend that to theism.
