I'm told Julian Sayin has done very, very well so far. He's comfortable. He's got the offense under control. Nothing seems to be too much for him right now. He's setting a good pace.
The WRs have been "great." The quarterbacks love throwing to the entire group. This is a deeper unit than last year despite the loss of Emeka Egbuka.
Tavien St. Clair is still getting the hang of getting snaps from under center.
Ryan Day kind of confirmed this today, but I was told this morning that left tackle is a very viable possibility for Austin Siereveld. This may not just be an experiment. It could be a three-man race for right tackle in the fall.
But also don't be shocked if they're back in the portal looking for another OT in the spring. Last year was a lesson that they don't want to have to learn again.
CJ Donaldson is impressing teammates early on. Great attitude, wide-ranging skill set. Very happy to be at a place that can lead to all of your wildest football dreams.
James Peoples has some work to do in pass protection, but he's asking for help in getting that done. He recently asked an OL to watch film with him and critique his pass blocking. The more he understands the OL blocking schemes, the more effective he'll be at pass protection. That's what sets guys like TreVeyon Henderson or Jahmyr Gibbs apart. It's not just willingness to pass block, but knowing where the voids will be in the blocking. Or even understanding where the pass protection is going so that he can show a false step to the defense and give the OL an advantage.
