Well how can yall claim Ray has better defense? I've seen Ray get his ass busted several times but I never seen Reggie get his ass busted. They both played 18 seasons but Reggie has 1505 steals and Ray has 1330 steals:usure:

Allen Iverson has more career steals than Kobe

With what logic do you surmise Ray hasn't had the better career? :what:
:manny: None really. Reggie just played on a bigger stage than Ray Allen. Thats about as superlative as you can get...but its true.

Pre-Celtics Ray Allen has the same knock as Carmelo, Shareef Abdur Raheem and Mitch Richmond. Good players who rarely played in big games. Ray Allen is the opposite of that...

And save the Robert Horry shyt. We're talking about stars. Reggie Miller was a bigger star than Ray Allen...

I've been keeping it objective for the most part, but on the real, I'm not buying Allen as a better defender either.

And the head to head statistics Tex posted pretty much :dead: this entire thread.

Superior player don't get bodied by inferior players. :yeshrug:

:rudy:

Ray Allen edges him in 3 pt% 40% to 39.5%. Yes Allen has the slightest of edges in that category but they both shot 40%.

FG%:

Reggie: 47%, 45% playoffs
Ray: 45%, 45% playoffs

TS%:

Reggie: 61%, 60% playoffs
Ray: 58%, 59% playoffs

The TS% is HUGE in this debate because Ray actually shot 0.5% better from downtown and 0.6% better from the line, yet still trails in TS%.

So for all that "Reggie was one dimensional" talk, he was clearly a better scorer inside the arc.

Numbers don't lie. :yeshrug:

Those numbers are close though. Reggie doesn't blow him out of the water which is what it would take for the shooting numbers to outweigh the totality of Ray's game. Ray got Reggie beat in every non shooting category and the shooting is close with Ray having the edge in 3pt and FT so what exactly makes Reggie better? He shot better inside the arc?

Circumstance.

Ray had a more all around game. He could put the ball on the floor better than Miller and He could defend much better than miller. Miller was a very deadly volume shooter and he had an uncanny abillity to drain contested shots and shots off the dribble, but defensively he was weak and if his shot wasn't falling his whole game was off. Last 5 seconds down by 2 i'd give it to miller. 2nd quarter up by 10 i'd want Allen because he'd do a better job keeping the game under control from an all around perspective.

Like the time he scored 25 points in the 4th against NY in the 94 playoffs, game 5 of the ECF giving the Pacers a 3-2 lead.....but then lost the next 2 and the series as Reggie shot 38% those last 2 games :scusthov:

Seems like Reggie gets a lot of credit for going against NY a bunch of times and talking shyt with Spike.

I wonder how Ray's career would look if he and Jack Nicholson got into it.

Indy's greatest successes came when Reggie was no longer the best player on the team :manny:

The shooting numbers are comparable, Allen is better in other facets of the game except media exposure.

It's called a question. Trying to get clarification on something.

"So you're saying...?" =/= "You said..."

That wasn't a question. That was someone elses words you manufactured and framing it as a question.

So you're telling me Ray Allen was better than Reggie Miller simply because he averaged ONE more board per game?

YOU suggested that. Not him.
