Overall Red made better music (3 classic albums, 1 good album, classic guest spots and freestyles) but Treach is definitely one of the most influential rappers of all time. Even style wise, Treach and Naughty really brought the hardcore/grimy style to East Coast Hip Hop with the Timbs, army jackets, durags, champion hoodies, crew that would roll 50 deep aesthetic to the game.

Go back bro. He was saying a lot.

i'm not saying treach is wack. evereverever. just that when you really listen to what he's saying compared to his peers, it doesn't really measure up to the greats who are great for being lyrical.

imo treach is elite because of his flow. not his pen.

I wouldn't go that far, Treach was an incredible MC. Probably more technically talented than Redman when you account for the cadences and rhyme schemes. Redman had better punchlines. But verse for verse, Treach is right there with him.

Treach had help.
So no we can not put him on red level.
Simple as that.
He was pixar.
Along with others that were pixar as fukk.

Trust me, I know a lot of people who think this because his flow stands out and cadences. I get it. But trust me, he was lyrical. He had a lot of wordplay in his raps that wasn't just nonsense. Go back, especially Naughty's 1993 and 1995 albums.

First off, Treach is one of the best of all-time.

I still say Naughty's best album is Poverty's Paradise. And if you actually listen to Treach on that joint, he's miles ahead lyrically, from where he was on the debut album. He was at his peak in '95. Dude was always a stand-out MC. If anything, I think being in the group is what gets him slept-on.

There was a lot of talk about him doing a solo in 2000, but who knows what happened with that. That said, he's never been on Redman's level. Two different types of MC's, but if you take Treach's run from '91-'96 and compare that to Reggie's, it's not even close. There were very few MC's better than Redman during that stretch. And the ones that were better, were making some of the best albums Hip Hop has ever seen.
