sometimes you can tell a nikka never listened to the shyt
has an opinion ...just to have one

Doc's da name was dope, it wasnt muddy waterz dope...muddy waterz had little to no filler

so because his opinion doesnt line up with yours, that means that he didnt listen to those albums??

if redman's albums were all that great, he wouldve had alot more success given his celebrity and likeability.

Redman’s 90’s catalog is arguably top 5 for that decade. He started to decline with Malpractice but the first 4 solo albums, the Def Squad album and Blackout with Meth are all fire.

Trust me, I know a lot of people who think this because his flow stands out and cadences. I get it. But trust me, he was lyrical. He had a lot of wordplay in his raps that wasn't just nonsense. Go back, especially Naughty's 1993 and 1995 albums.

I don't know how you can listen to a song like "Yoke the Joker" and think Treach had no pen game. How? :dwillhuh:

This is exactly what Eminem was talking about. He said on Crook's Corner that people overlook Treach because they think of songs like "O.P.P." and "Hip Hop Hooray," so they see him as some novelty rapper. He also said that for a good couple years, everybody was imitating Treach, which I agree with. Naughty by Nature made a lot of rappers want to follow them which is what led to that identity crisis in 1993 that we've talked about.

Debatable. Who I Am joint was ridiculous

My nikka

It ain't no debate.

That jeru record is Untouchable on that soundtrack.

I wouldn't go that far, Treach was an incredible MC. Probably more technically talented than Redman when you account for the cadences and rhyme schemes. Redman had better punchlines. But verse for verse, Treach is right there with him.

We do not know.
if treach got those records.
from a record pool.
or needed.
or had help. Plus by craziest nbn was done. As treach got served by all of chicago underground radio fans and dissed. Which is where d2thas national recognitivon in the era came from.

You getting rusty my guy....
Or maybe a little more lenient.

I get it.

I m am not never letting my boot up.

On nikkaz who souled't out and made it how wack it is.

I ain't never forgetting.

I know this thread is dated.

Yet again like yesterday.
In some other dated thread. Where somebody tried to diss in living color because their family was apart of Amos and Andy. Tjen felt a certain type of way. Without knowing the general idea. Not the self equated bit general idea.
In hiphop culture.

Can not let a narrative get spun that is not in proper cultural context.
Yes treach had permeation and was for a time. Viewed as the best rapper. A number of rapper in the early 90's were newcomers viewed as the best from breal to treach to red.
Yet and still...
We do not know.
if treach wrote the standout records he was known for.
As when you flaug.
Your whole cot damn career is destroyed in hiphop.

Which is why I do not see why anyone.
would break any rules In hiphop.

He is the most disrespected person in hip hop history.

Easily.

He pioneered sampling P-Funk before the west coast, ushered in the hardcore hip hop of the early 90s, was the lead producer on at least 5-6 classic albums, all the classics he gave other rappers, and he has large solo hits.

To add on to this even though the poster is banned.

Erick sermon has a horrible rumor about him. That i never seen it.
or met him in person.. to guage the room.
to know if it is true. It is said Wendy Williams made this rumor up. Since they were possibly an item?
Or maybe had relations...not sure.

None of the gossip mill stuff from Williams has clear defined credence. Maybe whwre there is smoke there is fire. Yet none of Williams stories past puff have credence. So with erick I would like to believe it is not true. Yet the rumor. Or a network of rumors.
is why Erick sermon is not held in higher regard.

To this day i never got around to listen to the first two albums.

I liked the Muddy Waters album despite the "funkier than Haitian underarms" line plus i had heard somewhere that he was Dominican (still don't know if that's true or not). Had me feeling a way but at the end of the day he makes fun of every one and everything.
