He said Redman ain't made a relevant or dope record in a long time but neither has Treach
When was that 1991? Who else was there to compete with CL Smooth, Cube? Lyricism took a big jump after Illmatic came out and that's when the competition got tougher. Treach wasn't up there with Nas, Rae, Ghost, GZA, Big, etc. He was dated by then. Red was still killing shyt.
I remember around the time Cuban Linx came out in 95 and having debates on the who the best was and Red's name came up. Nobody said Treach. You don't want to go verse for verse because I guarantee you you'll be walking back what you said.
I'm not trying to downplay Treach but he got lapped when the bar was raised.
thisDoggie Diamonds while seeming like a cool brother has some wack hip hop opinons I couldnt care for
Worst opinions on literally everything. lol. It's uncanny. His first two are classic
fukk Muddy Waters tho that album was boring I fukked with Docs Da Name more than that shyt
There was bunch of nice rappers in 1991 bro. Lord Finesse, G Rap, Cube, Guru, Pos, Tip, Chuck, KRS, Rakim etc...
Treach improved as years went on too, he just wasn't the "it" rapper anymore because other people had came and gotten more popular by then. Naughty by Nature's run was 1991-1993. By 1995, Treach popularity declined significantly but his skills didn't. He actually improved a lot.
There's literally nothing you can tell me about Redman bro, between this forum and SOHH, I probably got more Redman threads about how he's one of the GOATs then anyone. But I'm also realistic, Treach was every bit as good as Redman from a technical standpoint, probably better. His flow and rhyme schemes were second to none during that timeframe. Redman had better punchlines like I already said.
Go listen to Treach's verses on joints like "Respect Due" "Craziest" and "Chain Remains" in 1995, forget what we prefer or what meant more to us, just from technical perspective, Treach was still one of the elites.
That nikka Treach's use of alliteration is prolly the illest in the rap game till this day. You're bugging. fukk unique, Treach was legit arguably the best MC in the game at one point. Saying he's nowhere near Redman talent wise is complete nonsense. Treach literally had crazy wordplay, flow, delivery, cadence, song making ability. If you prefer Redman, that's cool, I did too. But to deny that Treach was one of the illest MCs of the 90s means you're either uninformed or lying.
He was great technically. I'm talking about the bars. Treach just wasn't the guy who made you hit rewind or had crazy lines quotables. Red is known for stand out lines and he's no slouch technically. Red best verses still hold up today. Treach's don't.
Muddy Waters his best albumHis first two are classic
fukk Muddy Waters tho that album was boring I fukked with Docs Da Name more than that shyt
His last verse on Craziest is still one of the most technically proficient rap verses ever. And it's damn near 30 years old. That nikka Treach's use of alliteration is prolly the illest in the rap game till this day.
Muddy Waters his best album
LOL @ “get jiggy”How? That shyt was boring as fukk yo! Only song I liked was "Creepin" he made that album for normal nikkas
We used to set shyt on fire when new Redman came out I couldn't get jiggy to that MW shyt at all nikka never should have got sober
Stop it.
Treach had a unique style but he's not fukking with Redman on bars. Red got better with each of his first 3 albums while Treach went nowhere. His style was dated after a while
