Album feels more Docs Da Name than Muddy Waters to me

I fux with it tho. Wish we had more Eric on this and a Keith and Jamal feature

Truth.

Same thing I said earlier in the thread.

And now that I had a chance to listen more, this is definitely more like Doc's Da Name 2. Same exact vibe, and flow. Not having more production from E holds this project back, for me. It's a cool album, and I like some of it, but we really needed to see those two back at it again. Especially after waiting for so long. You can't do a Muddy Waters project and have only one beat from Sermon on it. That's wild.

After two listens, this is a very good album!! I think some are getting caught up by the expectations of him calling it Muddy Waters Too.

I'm over that...I don't expect any veteran MC to recreate the same magic of a classic album they did 20+ years ago.

Despite having so many songs, there's really no bad songs on this album, nothing that I have to skip. I can let it play through and get consistent head nodding and  moments. Salute to Redman ,I hope he drops a video for the track with Meth.

I guess I need to listen to the original again, but Muddy Waters seemed pretty light-hearted to me with stuff like Pick It Up, Whatever Man, Smoke Buddah, and so on. The beats might have been a little dustier but subject matter-wise, I'm not seeing a big difference.

“Behind the boards, production comes from the likes of Erick Sermon, Rockwilder, Mike & Keys, Rick Rock, Khrysis and Redman himself.”

In all fairness, nobody knows them.

Can't really throw those names out to promote a project like Redman's. Needs to be names that will bring the people in. That's why they're not mentioning dudes like Tall Black Guy and Theory.
