I’ve heard people say people would be furious at microsoft for cancelling a newly bought studios big game in production, but they probably just shouldn’t have announced it at all. Maybe they mean internally.

This was the big “ONE MORE THING” of their 2021 showcase

Sony would have scrapped this. Nintendo would have scrapped this. They have a level of reputation to uphold. When a first party title comes out from those companies gamers expect it to meet a certain standard. It may have bugs but the core game is salvageable.

This game should have been canceled anyway regardless of the unveiling. This has done more harm to their brand than good because it speaks to the fact they’ll put out whatever.

Just watched Skill Up stand on a box and kill a persistent boss character that’s supposed to strike fear in the player. He went untouched doing so.

They were better off having gamers be upset the game was canceled than ridiculing the brand and company for releasing it.

Yeah, while Microsoft would take another bad PR hit for another cancellation, Arkanes reputation would remain clean. There was so much “Arkane doesn’t miss” going around before this game dropped and they lost that.

I'm going to assume that Starfield is at least good, but if it ends up not hitting the way people want it too, Elder Scrolls 6 being the hail mary is crazy. How far away is that? I imagine it can't be any further along than preproduction.

Nah it's definitely in production since starfield is basically finished. Probably won't see it until 2025 at the earliest
