You're right. I just think it's underrated because you really don't hear people talking about it anymore. It's one of my favorite hip hop albums of all time.

Once Upon A Time in America by Smoothe da Hustler is excellent. Hardcore gangsta rap done really well. Smooth could rap his ass off

This is one of my top albums of all-time. It came out in 94. The production, the flow... brilliant. You don't have to understand a word of French to love this album. It's that brilliant.
It's not underrated in French hip hop (MC Solaar is probably the biggest French rap artist ever and this is his masterpiece - like an Illmatic) but it's underrated to the English speaking audience because so few have heard it. If you like jazz rap with hard beats, you have to hear this album (listen to the French & US version).
@biscuitsnbangers I'm tagging you because you're a fan of Digable Planets and Tribe I assume. I would love to know what you think, even if you think it sucks.
