i think the point is, atlanta was already a powerhouse while staten island had virtually nothing going for them.

laface/arista was the pinnacle of mainstream success in urban music.

Bingo.

Now, im not so naive that I don't get it's still new York....but this isn't as lopsided an ascension to fame as the Kast guy would like to think.

the dumb young bul.

this idea of outkast blowing up against the odds is just as silly as the idea of outkast blowing up the south. outkast had a joy-ride to stardom, eating off them bougie bucks.

im done with this. all we're doing is blowing his name up. dude got a 20 page thread off the back of runny-ray, big mel and the other bul(my bad. cant recall his name).

I mean, at first I wasn't so sure Outkast weren't on that poser y'all so stupid, question mark asylum, madkap, Dallas Austin, yaagfu front vibe.

I figured out they weren't but at first, on that label? Sheeit.

Still Standing received critical acclaim and struck gold again. It was a notch below Soul Food quality wise, darker, more political and thought provoking.

How am I teaching this guy about hus favorite acts?

Anyways, the label saw that they werent gaining any fans, and perhaps even lost some, and pressured them into completely selling out on World Party.....which still went gold.
you aint saying nothing new - i was speaking in refrence to the east coast (plus contrasting still standing and wu forever as a whole). they had unheralded influence on the atlanta/south club scene with world party.

Well, they're from new york, genius.

Forget the staten island/Atlanta shyt. I don't think you see the direction I was headed with that thought.

I was speaking to an unlikely rise to prominence. 9 dusty industry rejects from the b*stard borough versus a R&B powerhouses foray into slick talkin' rap from the Motown of da souf.

It clearly went over yor head.
it didn't go over my head at all, if you meant that, you clearly chose the wrong words. plus dont be making out like outkast had their success all pathed out for them.
