Gravity is still just a theory.

and even though this thread was started with that notion, its still up to the believers to prove that what they believe in is true, moreso than the people trying to discredit it, because god can be anything. It could be Vishnu or Zeus or a flying unicorn. Again, by default we already know that those things/entities do not exist. Now all you have to do is place Allah/Jehovah in that group and you'll see the correlation.

I Have not state in this thread what I believe or do not believe in though, so who or why should I be convincing anyone? I stated an atheist is usually as dumb as the theist they criticize as their lack of faith usually doesn't come from proof but more so being bitter to negative things in life thus saying a creator can't be real because of the bad stuff that happens. Ask any atheist on this site why they are one and 9 times out of 10 they will talk about how dumb religious people are, europeans forcing abrahamic religion on blacks, and other cop outs. My stance is Blacks have always believed in something/the concept of a supreme engineer. The engineer could be the big bang or the event/being that trigger the big bang, or anything else, the fact stands most believed there was a power greater than them. Like I said the Agnostic man is wiser than both as they do not waste time in trying to explain the unexplainable, and my argument is if anything one can say the African is traditionally Agnostic more so than Atheist when it comes to those who do not identify directly with the concept of a Supreme Creator, because they simply do not know what came before them.

Yo imma just ask (state) this here:
If you don't believe Jesus is your savior you go to hell right? If you don't live right by Allah you go to hell right? If you don't live right by the Hindu god you go to their hell. Etc etc
Youre gonna end up in somebody's hell regardless. Religion is all beliefs so whatever you believe in is what you get. The failure to not believe doesn't change anything.
I don't think they have a hell or at least not believing in their 20+ gods is not gonna condemn you at worst they believe you'll come back as an ant

Problem with a lot of atheists is they assume everyone who is religious thinks God is a White Man in the sky because of that dumbass Michael Angelo picture. Maybe our higher power just determines the outcomes and keeps balance in this world and manifesting within everything and his form is incomprehensible.

Whatever your thoughts are on theism or atheism...a surgence at this point by the black american segment to question the primary and arguably the oldest (social, cultural, intellectual) construct in this American Society (christianity)....is a very good thing. If you are going to commit to a system/thought pattern...that obviously has little impact on uplifting you socially/economically; then at least consider the other options first:yeshrug:...or at some point in your earthly existence.

The great thing about atheistic thinking is it revolves on logic and evidence. In other words, imagine the entire populace of black america withholding tithe money into investing, time spent in a pew to time spent in a classroom, repeating spooky tales to kids to explaining laws of land/nature/history to kids. I for one say that the end product would indeniably be a better one. A self aware and educated populace with non concentrated/predicatable capital that understands the law and knows thier history= A problem for any supremacist construct, injustice, or oppression. :blessed:

The opposite is a vastly segmented populace that does not understand secular sciences/laws/social dynamics, or has any method of controlling it's currency for effect. Kids that have no knowlege of self, self esteem, and largely direction. The only common theme among them is to sin and pray for forgiveness and cling to the hope that all this earthly bullshyt is over when Goku opens the clouds and tosses all the faithful senzu beans, and then everybody goes super saiyan and lives happily ever after on king kais planet.:patrice:

I don't see how atheism is supposed to uplift our people in any way...Religion is one of the few things that still unite black folks in HUGE numbers on a weekly basis....My complaint against organized religion is that people in charge have failed to use it to uplift our people unlike our ancestors did....My question to atheist is if religion in fact was used to uplift our people in every aspect of our life, economically, socially etc, would you still be against it based on the fact you don't believe the story:patrice:?

If you ask me religion is actually are best chance at this moment, just haven't had enough sefless people or intelligent people in charge....As atheist who are supposedly more intelligent I would think they could see the benefits of religion, see its the only place in America where you have millions of black people willing to be lead and taught every week, the only place where you have that many black folks that have a trust among each other to collectively put their money together.

At least the preachers are smart enough to see this and make a killing:mjlol:

Meanwhile you have nikkas screaming about how we need group economics, knowing damn well black folks don't individually trust each other OUTSIDE of a religious setting, and damn sure aint putting they money in the hands of one man talking a good talk...Meanwhile you have nikkas upset they cant gather black people in one place to talk about the community, talk about economics etc.

Well you have all that with religion, but nah lets waste time trying to tear it down, instead of being intelligent and just using whats already set up to make progress, rather you believe in god or not:sas2:

Well Ok, so once we get rid of god whats your big plan that's going to bring black folks together since religion is supposedly tearing us apart,or causing us to stay stagnant? Or is this not about whats good for black people at all but something more sinister:patrice:

Im only asking because black atheist like to hide behind this atheism is good for black folks thing...So unlike white atheist you need something backing up why its better, how it helps black people, what will you use to unite black people religiously for lack of a better word, for decades to come with the absence of religion?what plan do you have that can make people pool our money together out of faith without a god:ohhh:?

its amazing how 90% of the people in this thread pretty much just make up their own definitions of what an atheist is, then try to argue against a definition they just made up themselves.

i am an atheist. i believe in logic, and rational thinking, and the scientific method (amongst other things). i reject the belief in things that have ZERO evidence to support them.

Opressed people always have the highest levels of belief....seems kind of a contradiction but then again people would rather put their faith in a higher power then face those harsh realities :yeshrug:

"Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people."
