300 murders a year
Legit question. Why didn't the co-op just go all in on Marlo and stop him in his tracks. Seems like their combined power could have nipped that shyt in the bud.

Should have been some "you either with us or against us" type shyt.
I think 1 reason was because the Co op was supposed to be about not having the wars , and personally marlo didn't attack most of those heads in the Co op. Marlo wasn't trying to run all of Baltimore, just west Baltimore. He left those other guys be, and never crossed the line on they real estate.

Secondly, contrary to popular opinions, albeit it's a lot of hood nikkas, there are always only a few actual killers, guys who will pull the trigger and body cats. Marlo had guys who would do so, the very fact the co op had to bring in marlo showed these guys were really just dealers, not killers. The very fact them ny dudes felt if cool to come into Baltimore without fear of getting gunned down, shows these were not really killers, just dealers making money. Marlo had Chris and snoop, who were straight up killers.

The 2nd part of what you're talking about wasnt realistic in the drug game..especially a deadly terrain like Baltimore. The blood is gonna be spread to stay in charge..Proposition Joe trying to be Meyer Lanksy didnt work because he didnt have a Luciano protecting him. It would take a major cartel to act the way Marlo was around the Co op...in truth, they would definitely gang up and wipe out his whole crew..hitters...all of them for not getting in line. He wasnt Vito Corleone..who nobody was TELLING shyt TO..because not only was he was the most powerful in NY, he controlled judges. So that part was sensationalized to push the Marlo character.

Season 5 could've worked a bit better if they expanded on the budget cuts of the police force and less screen time for the newspaper cast.. the serial killer stuff is outta control and absurd as fukk tho but it's still entertaining
They made sure every decent white girl got fukked by McNulty like he was desired Wolverine-type prize to bytches. Then it came to Beadie, they go show this nygga acting respectable and getting his mind right:laugh: Writers were a trip...lol

Trust me the normal DVD boxset and the Bluray version is like night and day, I should know because I own both. The Bluray is a MAJOR improvement. That's how I noticed another dude in the room in that scene when Avon was sonning Stringer in front of Slim after he got conned out of the money. It drives the point home even more how Avon was so disgusted by Stringer at this point he just didn't care anymore and would speak to him like he was just a regular footsoldier despite who was around. That's why it was so embarassing and awkward for Slim Charles.

About Marlo and the co-op.....the one thing that didn't sell with me was when he told those two older dudes to shut the fukk up like they were just some annoying kids in the street playing too loud and they immediately clam up. I mean, come on, I know they weren't killers like that, but I don't think they came up that far in their positions by letting nikkas damn near 30 years younger talk to them any old way. :pachaha:

The coop couldn't out muscle Marlo, only one nikka on the coop could handle Marlo, and prop Joe wasn't built for the war to put slim charles on Marlo...

Slim was the only coop nikka Marlo admired, and try to recruit, he also allowed Charles to call him youngin, with no response back

Looking back at the wire there is one thing that doesn't make sense

When Omar robs the co-op and comes back to resale the shipment, you are supposed to kill him. He's always been a problem, you've already took the loss on the shipment, you cant let him walk out the door.

and I got a challenge for yall, find incidents of Stringer's humanity, you won't.

Also Bodie and Avon never meet

I wonder if that was done purposely since Bodie's character is based Avon as a teenager
I was wrong

In season 3 when mc nulty, kima and sydnor need to get bodie's phone they leave early and slim Charles pulls up with avon and they shake hands and begin talking:ohhh:

The Co-op needed Marlo's muscle to run the NY Boys out of town. The NY'ers were taking over. Thats why Chris and Snoop went out on a hunting spree, and started asking questions about the radio that only B'More heads would have got.

the boy Fruit and Bodie's worker Lex

Lex was watching Patrice go in the club with Fruit

Fruit gives the security guard his ID and just walks away from his own ID

nikka was too cool, died without identification on him

They shook hands in Season 3....in Hamsterdam I believe.

The MCU detail were watching Bodie from an empty row house. The detail leaves early. Just after they leave, Avon pulls up in the backseat of a truck and shakes Bodie's hand.

At that moment the detectives were still unaware that Avon was out of prison. Had they stayed there just a few seconds longer, they would have found out sooner.
