I weird to hear ppl keep saying how great this movie is yet theres still no sequel in the works. This was supposed to be start of DCs film universe yet its been abandoned. Suicide Squad is objectively worst modern DCU film yet a sequel and a spin off (Harley Quinn) was greenlit. Shazam gets a sequel. Wonder Woman gets 2 sequels. BatGawd starts and becomes the leader of the JL :mjlol: And Bro Aquaman gets a sequel....despite the comic cacs originally hating a brown Arthur Curry.

But the GOAT DCU film gets nothing but a rumored reboot. It must be so good they could never do a another:hubie:
Chalk it up to WB being retarded with their properties

Didn’t Iron Man 3 make a billion in the same summer? Didn’t Man of Steel only make like 70 million more than Iron Man 1, that came out 5 years prior and didn’t have the benefit of the 3D upcharge?

From a financial standpoint there was no real reason from WB to invest much more into this.

Pretty sure the scout ship had a genesis room for what looked like the designer babies.

Also, you bring up another weird line in this great movie. So the Kryptonian’s need Superman’s cells for the Codex? Didn’t they literally extract blood from him and have access to his cells in that blood draw.

They didnt realize the codex was in his cells until he escaped the ship

It’s pretty much a movie for people who don’t really know anything about Superman or don’t like Superman because they think he’s a Boy Scout.

It’s a pretty awful rendition of Superman.

Poor assessment

In the comics when discovered spiderman he was a adult with his own apartment with mary Jane he was 36

Then the cartoon he was in his 20's living with his aunt

Then the movies he was a teenager

Each version was different he was still peter but very different

Superman in man of steel is not the Chris Reeves version, in the comics he hasn't always been that way.

Superman should be allowed to have a arc

:manny:
Many of us have seen all the movies and read read the comics/graphic novels growing up. I remember my friend got a copy of the complete death of Superman. We sat and read that shyt together. We did the same when I had everything from batman’s knight fall run. Some of us just like the grimier stories. We know and understand Superman/DC properties, we just aren’t into the happy ass campy stuff. There was nothing wrong with this movie. The one everyone needs to hate is “the return of Superman.

:mjlol: People are really in here trying to argue that every Superman portrayal/movie should be similar

that’s dumb as fukk since different portrayals has always been a thing. Nothing wrong with having a different kind of Superman, it’s just a different take, I don’t want to see the same kind of movie over and over again :yeshrug:

It's not about different portrayals, it's about fundamentally wrong portrayals.

It's like having a Spider-Man film where Spider-Man kills criminals because he believes that if he had not only stopped but killed the guy who shot uncle Ben the world would be better off. See how well dark gritty Spider-Man would be received by audiences.
