I would like to see Sting and Undertaker #20 and #21 at rumble. Let them eliminate a bunch or wrestlers by working together and they can use the time in between eliminations get catch their breath.

Have them get them both eliminated by Brock on miscommunicaiton or something.

Stank would break his hip being tossed over the rope

This "draw" shyt from Meltzer that keeps getting regurgitated is getting sad.

Am I the only person who has watched WCW in the early 90's?

NOBODY was gonna draw then. Period. .. they were bouncing between company presidents like nobody's business, doing weird mergers, Flair was gone, they weren't doing proper merch and had some really embarrassing writing like WWE does often times right now (white castle of fear? Abdullah gets electric chair? Vader rips micks ear off. They do nothing with it?)

You can't name a single wrestler in history who would have drawn in that situation with how that company was being managed then.

He avoided the paycheck for fifteen years in fear of exactly what ended up happening to him

True but when you are nearing retirement age you gotta think maybe I'll milk every last dime of my professional worth before I cash out and Sting did just exactly that. We all sitting around here talkin legacy and its obvious that Sting just didn't care which is fine... he doesn't have to.

Sting never played a ton of politics his whole career. A little here and there but for the most part he just made his money and went about his biz. I can't knock him :manny:

Vince is a delusional psychopath. RAW at all-time low ratings and he was worried about burying WCW :mjlol:

Sting and Taker would break or tear something tossing each other over the ropes, and not just their spirits

“I was there and obviously involved in his match at WrestleMania last year,” said Hall. “We’re rehearsing the match in Cali last year at Levi Stadium, and it’s the Kliq and the New Age Outlaws out there, and we all know each other. And then there’s Sting, who doesn’t know anybody. He’s an outsider. I just think he never felt comfortable there. Being hurt was answered prayer for him–just let it end.

“You need to remember that Vince is never going to go with something he didn’t create. But we didn’t get anything done at the rehearsal the night before, so WrestleMania day, there were tents in the parking lot set up with rings for rehearsal. So we’re all in there again, and I’m next to Hulk on the ring apron and Triple H is going over the match and then he goes, ‘OK, he’ll break the sledgehammer, then I’ll hit him with the sledgehammer, and cover him, 1-2-3.’ I looked at Hulk, and Hulk looked at me, and I was thinking, ‘Sting, what kind of lawyer do you have, bro? You’re coming in the door doing a job? You weren’t even guaranteed to go over?’ That’s Vince just reminding you who won, even if he’s going to make money the other way.”

Also, Meltzer and the fatties over at the Wrestling Observer board have been trying to undermine Sting's accomplishments for years. It's why Sting isn't in their little hall of fame yet people like Chris Jericho are in it :rudy:

Meltzer claims Sting wasn't a draw but I think it's something more personal than that. Something happened somewhere. Maybe it's because Flair passed the torch to Sting and Meltzer caught feelings.

As pointed out in his own writing, Sting was a huge draw against fukking WrestleMania. Sting was not a draw in the early 90s because the company was going through so many changes at the top which @puppetmaster pointed out. They had a very talented roster but they were dumb as fukk from a business standpoint.

When the company eventually did turn things around who was their top face? Sting. Again, I've said many times the nWo doesn't work as well without Sting being the foil.

Fast-forward to '98 and the fans are cheering Sting against freakin Goldberg of all people. Why? Because he's Sting. He's a true icon of the business whether people want to admit it or not.

I'm glad he will have his day at the hall of fame and Flair will put him over because Flair more than anything respects the business and the art.
